Senator Thune in Running for Republican Conference Vice Chair

KELO reports Senator John Thune is in the running for a top leadership post in the Senate Republican caucus.

The conference vice-chair is the number five spot in the Republican senate leadership ranking. Thune stands a very good chance of winning the post. So far, he's running unopposed. But while Thune doesn't want to take his prospects for granted, he's certain the job would be good for South Dakota.

Roll Call also reported on this last week.

Thune is currently serving as chief deputy whip.

He's not doing too bad for someone in their first senate term.

Dakota Voice wishes you Godspeed, Senator Thune! Hope you get the spot!
