Palin Calls for Ethics Inquiry of 'Troopergate'

Instead of obfuscating, dodging and covering up like you usually see from the Left, Sarah Palin is taking the trooper scandal in Alaska bull by the horns.

The Politico reports Governor Palin has not only invited the inquiry into the firing of her former brother-in-law state trooper Mike Wooten, but has formally requested the Alaska Personnel Board to conduct an ethics inquiry into the matter.

Gov. Palin has provided a 13-page affidavit and statement.

Wooten is alleged to have threatened to kill Palin's father, disparaged Palin's daughter, used a Taser on his own son, shot a moose illegally, and drove his patrol car while drinking alcohol.

It's refreshing to see a politician confront an issue head-on and invite open inquiry. But given her already formidable record of seriousness about government ethics, it isn't surprising.

Sarah Palin appears ready to bring a lot of good things to the White House that Washington has been in short supply of for decades.

She is doing it to stall the ongoing investigation. The new "investigation" she wants would be handled by people Palin personally hired.

So you have basically fallen for her spin - her attempt to destroy an independent investigation while looking like she is being open.

Palin could teach Dick Cheney a thing or two about evasion and stalling techniques.

Ah, I see. The anti-corruption thing is just an act. Fine if it's her corruption but hell to pay if it's somebody elses.

The whole pro-family, anti-corruption, loving mother, accountability in government, nice gal thing is all a ruse.

I'm glad you straightened that out for us, Katie.
