McCain Coming Out Stronger Against Roe

The only major area where pro-lifers have been discontent with John McCain--within that issue--is embryonic stem cell research.

McCain supports it, while pro-lifers rightly point out that it involves the intentional destruction of innocent human life. Embryonic stem cell research not only destroys human life but is unnecessary since adult stem cell research already produced dozens of successes.

But LifeNews reports McCain has reiterated to Glamour magazine rather strongly that he believes the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion in the United States was flawed and should be overturned:

Asked whether he would "actively seek the demise of Roe v. Wade," McCain confirmed that and said he will not change from that stance.

"So let me make my point clear again. I thought that Roe v. Wade was a bad decision, and I continue to believe that," he told the magazine. "That's my position."

The magazine attempted to ask a follow-up, but McCain interrupted and restated his position again.

"No, no. That's my position. And that will remain my position," he confirmed.

John McCain is not the perfect Republican candidate. But he is a far cry from the infanticide-defending Barack Obama.

The Roe decision was based on scientific ignorance and ideological bias, and it's good to know that McCain recognizes that.
