More Dangers of Marijuana Use Surfacing

While some advocate the legalization of marijuana (or at least for "medicinal" purposes, if not completely), pot has long been recognized as a dangerous drug. Not only does it intoxicate, it is often the first step to even more dangerous drugs. But new health concerns are starting to surface over its use.

It has been revealed in the last year that smoking pot increases schizophrenia.

Now, within the past few weeks, it has been reported that smoking marijuana increases the risk of lung damage (we've been told by pot advocates that *laugh* pot is actually safer than tobacco). In fact, the report from Science Daily says lung disease can hit marijuana smokers about 20 years earlier than tobacco smokers.

Now today comes a report from Yahoo News about a New Zealand study which found that smoking pot can make your gums receded and, in extreme cases, your teeth fall out.

Intoxication is unhealthy from a mental perspective, no matter whether it's a drug or alcohol producing the intoxication.

But now the evidence is coming in that even milder drugs like marijuana are harmful to physical health, as well.

Oh my god are you serious?! I guess I'm gonna stop smoking pot now, jeez. You know what else is a danger to your physical health...food...it can make you fat. Moderation is key, just like with everything else...a little pot does the body and mind good...try it sometime.

More Reefer Madness, rich with hysteria, lies. I like the "we are told" bits especially. That's supposed to make us think this hang-em-high drivel has a scientific basis. But it is more political NIDA "science" - NIDA ax-grinding research that won't get funded if the study isn't intended to "show" the "harms" of pot. Complete hogwash to justify lies and prisons, past and present.

"For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer." -- 1 Timothy 4:1-5

But, of course, today's ever-ready-to-pitchfork principality and power -serving "Christians" can't wait to catapult the first stones, the whip out first TASERs, the first CS gas, the first D.U. munitions, you name it. Nice Christ-like folks.

If it were a democracy, you could vote the tyrants out. But, alas.

Food has legitimate, redeeming value, King Liam. Pot doesn't. Wise folks don't intentionally put pollutants into their bodies.

Well heres the burn. Should you go to prison for endangering your own health. If so we would have a prison system full of fat smoking beer drinkers that drive to fast. To put one group of people in prison or in the legal system for an absurd reason such as its bad for your health is the most ridiculous thing, and its just wrong. Im tires of the moral authority singling out one behavior set to push the underling interest of big business and the big brother. stop hiding behind the health issues and just come out and say we would lose to many cops if the drug war was scaled back. god know we cant have a bunch of fat drug hunting cops out of work! So if you think people should take care of their health than start an education program not an incarceration program. Its my god given right to do as i see fit with my mind and body.

Drug users aren't going to jail for endangering their own health; they're going to jail for breaking the law. There are laws against intoxicating drugs like this for a number of reasons, including the crime which often comes with the need to feed addictions.

The increased health risks is just one more reason why people shouldn't use drugs.

Typically, Observer takes scripture out of context. The entire verse goes like this (KJV):

"1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."

Not content to distort the Word of God, Observer finds an opportunity to express his hatred for Christians in general for no apparent reason. I am surprised, however, that he didn't get a plug in for Ron Paul while he was on a roll.

God created all seed bearing plants for man to use.

Making something God created illegal is criminal. One of the great crimes of my time.

This is a plant which humans can utilize beneficially in it's natural unaltered form.

Who has the right to make a divine creation illegal?

Marijuana is illegal because chemically it is a FAR, FAR, FAR superior anti-inflammatory than aspirin. Pharmaceutical companies have lobbied, (read as "paid"), for this.

Please don't cite medical studies to me about marijuana because they are never clear. Which medical study clearly identifies milk as good or bad for you?

Oh and btw...
