Lethal Injection: Current Controversies Resolved

Several issues have come up with regard to lethal injection.

Generally, they are: 1) The murderer experiencing pain during execution; 2) The ethics of medical professionals participating in executions; and 3) Proper training of execution personnel.

1) PAIN AND LETHAL INJECTION

The evidence, including the immediate autopsy of executed serial murderer/rapist Michael Ross, supports that there is no pain within the lethal injection process. (Full Article)

Whether convicted murderers are rendered unconscious prior to death is unimportant to me (an MD). I have yet to see a report of how these animals took their victims suffering into account when they decided to kill. Personally, I am in favor of hanging. It is quick and certain and gives the murderer an extra split-second to contemplate their crime before they feel the first tension on the rope.
