Radio talk show host Shad Olson and I recently discussed on KLMP the continuing resolutions being passed by the U.S. House and how we felt about support for those bills from Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD). It seems some Tea Party patriots across the country are getting pretty impatient with the fiscal conservatives they thought they elected back in November, and are already talking about running a 2012 primary challenger against the people they just helped get elected.
An alert went out from the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance this morning in response to the South Dakota House State Affairs Committee’s failure to combat ObamaCare on behalf of the people of South Dakota yesterday. Though committee members received hundreds of emails in favor of the Health Care Freedom Act, they chose to listen to liberal fear-mongering about nullification and “secession.” But the bill can be revived with enough support from bill co-sponsors and from the people of South Dakota.
The Health Care Freedom Act was introduced yesterday afternoon to nullify the worst parts of ObamaCare in South Dakota. Officially numbered HB 1088, this important bill recognizes the state’s right to protect its citizens from unconstitutional health care requirements imposed by the federal government. HB 1088 would nullify the mandate forcing you to purchase certain insurance, and nullify any federal laws restricting your right choose your doctor or health care plan. If you support it, legislators need to hear from you NOW.
Conservative watchdog groups are adding their voices to the chorus of criticism over obscene compensation packages paid to South Dakota’s Executive employees. The criticism stems from the recently publicized conflict between Governor Dennis Daugaard and state investment officer, Matt Clark, which cast a revelatory and damaging spotlight on salaries many consider outrageously high for the public sector.
Fresh from an interview with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) for his radio show this morning, Glenn Beck and his crew braved the fierce winds blowing across the Dakotas today to make it in to Rapid City for a reception, rally and book signing. Today’s event sponsored by the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance and partner organizations brought patriots from as far as Sioux Falls and surrounding states to hear and meet one of the greatest threats to the liberal agenda in America today.
Glenn Beck is coming to Rapid City today! Beck will be in Rapid City, South Dakota today as he kicks off a national book tour for his new work, “Broke: The Plan to Restore Our Trust, Truth and Treasure.” In addition to Glenn Beck’s exciting presentation, information on the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance’s (SDTPA) “Constitution Challenge” program will be rolled out.

As South Dakota Democratic candidates have called for the acceptance of $47.2 million in federal aid and the Republican administration of Governor Mike Rounds has decided to take the money, the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance (SDTPA) questions the wisdom of taking part in yet another multi-billion dollar federal spending package.
