A new Centers for Disease Control (CDC) report finds new HIV cases among homosexuals is more than 44 X that of heterosexual men and more than 40 times that of women. The rate of primary and secondary syphilis among MSM is more than 46 times that of other men and more than 71 times that of women. The reasons homosexuality is incompatible with military service are manifold. They are firmly rooted in both common sense and in the “settled” anthropological, sociopolitical and medical sciences, as well as the theological arena. Lutherans who have left or are pondering their exit from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America have put a name to the alternate church body they plan to form – North American Lutheran Church. A proposal for the new denominational body that is intended to provide a biblically faithful home for disaffected Lutherans was released Thursday, on the anniversary of the death of 16th century reformer Martin Luther. Although it’s hard to keep up with them all, the latest outrage in Congress is a bill introduced on January 27th by openly homosexual Congressman Jared Polis of Colorado [the founder of Proflowers.com]. The bill, H.R. 4530, is the so-called, “Student Nondiscrimination Act of 2010.” Here we go again. Last weekend the San Francisco Chronicle “outed” Proposition 8 Judge Vaughn Walker as an active practitioner of the homosexual lifestyle. The revelation that Judge Walker apparently chooses to engage in homosexual conduct, if true, would explain much of his bizarre behavior throughout this trial. President Barack Obama appoints so many bad people to our government, it’s almost impossible to keep up with them all. Harry Knox was appointed early last year to the president’s Faith Based Initiatives board, but most of us are only recently beginning to hear about him. Religion is being removed from public life in Britain under the guise of tolerance, the Archbishop of York has warned. “This is symptomatic of a trend which has intensified in Britain over the past fifty years in the name of tolerance. That is, an attempt to remove religion from public life,” he pointed out. Read more »

Four Christians on Tuesday filed a federal lawsuit challenging the recently enacted Hate Crimes Prevention Act, arguing that it seeks to criminalize deeply held religious beliefs that are in opposition to homosexuality. The new law, the lawsuit contends, “is an effort to eradicate religious beliefs opposing the homosexual agenda from the marketplace of ideas by demonizing, vilifying, and criminalizing such beliefs as a matter of federal law and policy.” Read more »

Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced Tuesday that the Pentagon has begun the process to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that bars homosexuals from openly serving in the military. Pro-gay activists and church leaders are touting an alternative “inclusive” prayer event to this year’s National Prayer Breakfast. Called “The American Prayer Hour,” the event on Feb. 4 is being held in protest of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill. Organizers claim that the “secretive fundamentalist organization” – The Fellowship Foundation, also known as The Family – behind the annual National Prayer Breakfast is directly tied to the bill. The final witness in the federal court battle over California’s voter-approved marriage definition finished giving his testimony Wednesday, but the closing arguments and the final ruling are still weeks away.
