Pastors Challenge Constitutionality of ‘Hate Crime’ Legislation

Pastors Challenge Constitutionality of 'Hate Crime' Legislation

Four Christians on Tuesday filed a federal lawsuit challenging the recently enacted Hate Crimes Prevention Act, arguing that it seeks to criminalize deeply held religious beliefs that are in opposition to homosexuality. The new law, the lawsuit contends, “is an effort to eradicate religious beliefs opposing the homosexual agenda from the marketplace of ideas by demonizing, vilifying, and criminalizing such beliefs as a matter of federal law and policy.” Read more »

Like racism, hate crimes usually apply to only one side

Like racism, hate crimes usually apply to only one side

For months white and hispanic males were being systematically assaulted by black gang members and, apparently, race was the main factor in the attacks. A few were robbed, but in most cases victims were simply beaten while attackers screamed racial slurs and epithets. Does anyone suppose that there would be any doubt about the motivations for the attacks were the roles reversed? Read more »

Political Correctness Punishes Even When No Law is Violated

Political Correctness Punishes Even When No Law is Violated

Tremendous abuses can be perpetrated on everyday people–especially people of faith–in the name of political correctness, “anti-discrimination,” and “hate crime” legislation. The latest illustration of this demonstrates that you don’t even have to break the law (or violate common sense) to be penalized for not worshiping at the altar of political correctness. Read more »

New hate crimes law is a mistake

We already have a source, which instructs against murder and to love your neighbor as yourself. But this has been banned from our schools and our public spaces. So once again, in what is becoming our Godless nation, we mistake the disease for the cure. Read more »

1984 on the Horizon: Congress Moves to Regulate Thought Crime

1984 on the Horizon: Congress Moves to Regulate Thought Crime

Liberals in congress are making the latest attempt to bring back the “Fairness Doctrine,” but this time under another name. This measure, HR 1966, would punish any electronic communication that someone says intimidates or causes emotional distress. It can be easily used to silence dissent on the homosexual agenda, or pretty much anything Leftists want to protect. Read more »
