Taking Care of People, Not Problems
If we live long enough, the day will likely come when each of us will rely on someone else to care for us. I, for one, hope that when that day comes I live in a world that looks at me and sees a person, not a “problem.” Read more »

Principle v. Pragmatism
There are certain issues in life that are non-negotiable, no matter how seductively the siren song of “compromise” may beckon. We understand that the way of Washington, particularly in the game of politics, is to “go along to get along.” However, at some point a line must be drawn. Read more »

End of Life Care Should Not End Life
If our leaders in Washington are unable or unwilling to come up with a uniquely American solution to the health care issue, and if the looming healthcare crisis continues to be exploited by leaders on the Left simply as a means to a greater ideological end, there is good reason to fear that the cold comfort of England’s “care pathway” approach to end-of-life care may be coming soon to a hospital near you. Rationing by Any Other Name
by Victor Morawski
We critics of ObamaCare may have been doing ourselves a bit of a disservice over the past few months by focusing on health care “rationing.”
Yes, “rationing” best describes some of the most disconcerting effects of government run health care, and it strikes a chord with the general public. But it is rarely used [...] Read more »
Socialized Health Care Irony: Institutionalized Unfairness
Despite the foolish attempt of socialists to make the world a fair place, the imperfect nature of our fallen world ensures such attempts will always fail, and artificial means to ignore that nature will usually make things much worse. In order to be “fair” to the majority, institutional systems of redistribution must determine where resources would be wasted and take draconian steps to stem that waste where possible. That means “stemming” care to those with the least practical value to the state: infants, the disabled, and the elderly. Read more »

Government Health Care? Not on Your Life!
The British Telegraph features an article about patients under Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) wrongly determined to be close to death…and thus prime candidates to be written off by the government health care system. When Americans can look around the world and see the myriad of problems that come with socialized medicine, it’s no wonder so many of them are saying “Not on your life!” to Obamacare. Read more »
Young Chicks Ground Up Alive at Hatchery
Animal rights activists are livid because unwanted male chicks at an egg hatchery were ground up alive at the facility. Yet we frequently employ procedures on live human beings that would seem to be far less humane.

Senator Thune Town Hall – Should We Kill the Health Care Bill?
A question asked at Senator John Thune’s recent town hall meeting in Rapid City: It has become clear that the value of human life will be measured by a formula, and taxpayer funded abortion will be included in the government health care plan. “Senator, wouldn’t it be better just to kill this bill and start over again with a different congress?” Read more »
