South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has announced that the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals has granted a January 2012 rehearing of the entire eleven-member Court with regard to abortion disclosure requirements adopted by the legislature in 2005. The full Court will address the validity of the legislative requirement that women considering an abortion be advised of the association of suicide in relation to abortion.
We have heard of the horrors imposed on the people of China—women who have been forced to have abortions due to China’s demented and barbaric “one-child policy.” Amazingly enough, right here in the United States, sex-selection and race-based abortions are perfectly “legal,” except in Arizona, where, earlier this year, Governor Jan Brewer signed into law a ban on sex and raced-based abortions. Now, a tenacious congressman from Arizona has reintroduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives that would prohibit sex-selection and race-based abortions.
Planned Parenthood’s website offers a self-endorsement and subtle tribute to racist and eugenicist Margaret Sanger who sought to rid the world of undesirable minorities. The time is long overdue for Planned Parenthood to be denounced as an agent of death and despair and its abortion activities declared illegal.
The Thanksgiving Family Forum, a discussion of what is known in modern culture as “social issues” by the GOP presidential candidates. It was held yesterday at the First Federated Church, Des Moines, Iowa. It was moderated by Frank Luntz. Most of the GOP candidates were there to participate in this forum that was very different than all the conventional debates we’ve seen so far, and they talked about what George Washington called the “indispensable supports” of our political prosperity. The issues discussed here make this forum quite likely the most important one you can view leading up to the 2012 election.
What was arguably Mississippi’s most important ballot initiative, Ballot Initiative 26, did not pass Tuesday. The legislation sought to correctly acknowledge that human life does begin at conception, a truth that used to be commonly understood even by 6th grade biology students. Since the awful Roe v. Wade decision, so many Americans have become desensitized to the barbaric truth of abortion that, as George Orwell said, “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Today is Election Day across the nation, and although it is not a presidential election year, we must not underestimate the importance of going to the polls and voting. Not as many states have elections this year, but each state and each race is important. In some countries, people risk their lives to vote. Will you cast aside this precious liberty as if it didn’t matter?
By refusing to acknowledge the personhood of the unborn child, American society and its legal system has fostered a disposable man mentality. If a baby is unwanted, inconvenient, or imperfect, the it’s mother has a right to kill it. Ironically, of course, if the same woman decides that she wants to have a child, then the process of pregnancy and childbirth magically transforms into a sacred miracle that is to be respected and celebrated.
Disrespect for life and disrespect for property go hand in hand. We can’t divorce our sexual promiscuity from our fiscal promiscuity. Restoring personal responsibility in both areas is what we need today to get our nation back on track. The “right to abortion” culture is simply a subset of the entitlement culture, the culture that says your life is about making claims on others rather than personal responsibility.
Among some conservatives, the abortion issue is so important that a candidate’s views on this subject can be make-or-break in determining whether they will vote for them. So when Herman Cain made some rather confusing comments about abortion to Piers Morgan on Wednesday (comments that sounded as if he favored the legal choice to abortion in cases of rape and incest), many pro-lifers were taken aback. But did he really say what we were led to believe…or was he talking about something else entirely?
Obviously, some changes are to be expected whenever redistricting is necessary – and inevitably some primaries are likely to result when changes like this are made. But it now appears that several pro-life legislators will be forced to run against each other in the next election, and thus reduce the number of conservative pro-life votes in the South Dakota Legislature. Is this by design by the RINO establishment?
This video does a good and much-needed job of exposing Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney’s liberal record. The only way to know for sure whether you can rely on a politician once their elected is to go by their record…and Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney’s record is a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-socialized health care, pro-global warming nonsense agenda that fits in well in the Democrat Party, but not at all in the Republican Party.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announces that the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today in Planned Parenthood v. Rounds (III) that significant provisions of South Dakota’s abortion disclosure requirements are constitutional. “Today’s decision supports the Legislature’s goal of encouraging women seeking an abortion to make informed and voluntary decisions,” stated Attorney General Marty Jackley.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit Friday upheld the majority of South Dakota’s informed consent law, including a requirement that doctors inform pregnant women that they have “an existing relationship” with an “unborn human being.” A lower court ruling had struck down that provision because the judge concluded that preborn children are not “persons.”

South Dakota District 33 State Senator Elizabeth Kraus has written an op/ed piece published in the Rapid City Journal today. It deals with the lawsuit Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, has filed against South Dakota’s informed consent law passed by a large majority in the legislature a few months ago.
Why is it that the President Obama and Secretary Sebelius want women to have free access to abortion and cancer-causing birth control to fight the “disease” of pregnancy, yet medication that literally keeps my 2 1/2 year old son Gunner, who has cystic fibrosis, from dying costs my husband and I hundreds every month? Why is it that the Left in America has virtually everything turned upside down and backwards in their minds?
Last week, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) released their new publication just time for next week’s United Nation’s 2011 International Year of the Youth High Level Meeting in New York. The publication, entitled Exclaim! Young People’s Guide to ‘Sexual Rights: an IPPF Declaration,’ is a shocking look into how this billion dollar industry views our children. It attempts to actually defend IPPF’s claim that “young people are sexual beings” with the right to “explore, experience and express their sexuality in healthy, positive, pleasurable and safe ways.”
Another example of violence perpetrated by Leftists that will likely never be prosecuted. Attacks on Christians in particular are getting more frequent and more violent. I suppose that people who have no conscience about ripping babies into shreds of flesh would likewise have no problem attacking those with whom they disagree.
The manner in which a society treats human life says a lot not only about that society but about each individual who makes up that society. How a society treats convicted murderers says even more about a society. But what does it say about a society when that society gives exponentially more consideration and protection to convicted murderers than it does to innocent human life?
Three GOP presidential candidates have, for one reason or another, refused to sign a pro-life pledge by the Susan B. Anthony List. They are Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, and Gary Johnson. Mr. Cain has clarified that his reticence has nothing to do with ideological opposition and everything to do with his understanding of checks and balances. Johnson has identified himself as pro-choice, so no surprise there. But then there is Governor Romney.

There will be a free movie showing of the documentary “Blood Money” at the Elks Theater in Rapid City, Sunday June 12 at 3:00 pm. The film is a tastefully done film that shows the devastation of abortion on the lives of Mothers and families. It also exposes the true agenda of Planned Parenthood. The event is being sponsored by the Faith & Family Foundation.
In case you’re thinking about which GOP presidential candidate to get behind, you might want to take a look at Herman Cain if you haven’t already. If you’re tired of flashy RINO candidates who are favored by the “mainstream” media and the GOP establishment but who do a pathetic job of representing Republican values, you might want to take a look at Herman Cain. These video clips feature businessman Herman Cain talking about where he stands on the issues.
Perhaps one of the most persistent and pervasive myths is that that the world’s population is spiraling out of control. The myth of overpopulation first put forth by Malthus, coupled with Darwinian theories that promote propagation of the “fit” and reduction of the “unfit,” has been instrumental in legitimizing abortion, forced sterilization, government subsidized contraception, and, in the most extreme cases, eugenics as practiced by the Nazis and others.
This troubling story comes to us from the British Daily Mail of a young woman who is being persecuted by a harsh legal system for merely exercising her rights. The young woman was caught on hidden camera in a hospital as she attempted to smother her four-month-old son. She was only attempting to exercise the rights that her society and national leaders have told her are hers to decide.
