How You Can Help

If you like what Dakota Voice is doing and support our efforts, you can partner with us.

Dakota Voice, formerly a conservative newspaper called The Bird, was established in 2005 in Rapid City, South Dakota with a print newspaper and online version. The print version of Dakota Voice had subscribers in over 90 South Dakota towns and was offered in dozens of churches and businesses around the state. The website sees visitors each month from all around the world. In 2007, Dakota Voice became exclusively online in blog format, continuing to offer both exclusive and syndicated content.

Dakota Voice is routinely rated the #1 most influential blog in South Dakota on a weekly basis, according to BlogNetNews, and website ranking services like Alexa usually rank Dakota Voice higher than any other independent blog in South Dakota. Dakota Voice is linked to by hundreds of other websites around the country, and our content is read by a world audience via news aggregators like Google News.

The mission of Dakota Voice is to provide news and commentary, often from a Christian worldview, which is not strained through the filter of the liberal media. We seek to bring our readers information not found in “mainstream” media outlets, and to magnify important information which is marginalized in the “mainstream” media.

We do not pretend to be unbiased, but rather have an allegiance to the truth where ever it is found, regardless of what political party it benefits or indicts. Our intent is not to provide “balance” by also giving you the liberal slant (you get plenty of that through the “mainstream” media), but to be fair and accurate.

If you agree with this goal and would like to help Dakota Voice continue and expand our coverage, you can be a part of our efforts with your financial support.

Your financial support may be used in one or more of the following ways:

  • Help defray travel expenses to cover current events such as…
  • Equipment to help get the story out
    • Server hosting fees
    • Photography supplies
    • Video equipment
    • Computer hardware/software
  • Purchasing premium content for Dakota Voice readers
    • Political cartoons,
    • Article reprints, etc.
  • Provide some monetary compensation for our regular content contributors
    • Many of whom work hard doing research and writing for no compensation

You can help financially (NOTE: Dakota Voice is NOT a tax exempt organization–tax exempt organizations face too many free speech restrictions–so your contributions are NOT tax deductible).  Make a donation by clicking the yellow DONATE button below.

  1. I wholeheartedly support your view and your efforts. I only wish I could help financially. We have a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and you are right: we face tremendous free speech impediments. Now, thanks to the federal courts, homosexuals are considered a “protected class.” I am an African American. My grandfather was a slave as a child. My mother was picking cotton when she went into labor with me. I still feel the effects of slavery. However, I’ve used the wheels of education to help mobilize my career. I face a great deal of challenges but I don’t sit back and blame everything and everybody. God is in control. I am his tool and vessel through whom he works. I resent homosexuals trying to move their agenda forward by comparing their plight with that of African Americans. They are not a “race.” They are not a “class” of people. They are in SIN, nothing more, nothing less. God tells us to speak the truth in love, and I believe this. He tells us to be “wise as serpents” and “harmless as doves.” The Bible says that the time is coming (now) when men will call “right” wrong and “wrong” right. True believers are not those guilty of hate speech. I have heard more ugly, more abominable, and more nasty speech from the mouths of people like Perez Hilton, a celebrity who is homosexual. No one chastises him. No one comments on his behavior. God sees, hears, and this misguided young man will have to give an account before our just and holy God. I believe homosexuality is another major piece in the Mark of the Beast. The time is coming when an economic worldwide system will be put into place that, unless your give allegiance, for example, wholeheartedly accept homosexuality, you will be unable to buy or sell. In fact, this system is steadily gaining ground. I believe the present administration is bringing all of this to pass.
