Thomas Hopu and Hiram Bingham were the first missionaries to Hawaii, arriving MARCH 31, 1820. Devising a 12-letter alphabet, they translated the Bible, set up a school, a church, a newspaper and convinced women to wear dresses. Idolatry and human sacrifice had previously been ended by King Kamehameha II and his Queen mother Ka’ahumanu.

Liberal and open-ended interpretation of the Constitution has rendered it practically meaningless, opening the door to steady growth of the federal government and its inexorable encroachment in our lives over the last half century. The problems we are having today all originate here.

Even if the individual mandate included within Obamacare is overturned, the administration and its leftist allies stand poised to undermine the legitimacy of the U.S. Supreme Court and the Constitution itself. At their core, these efforts are designed to undermine the very document that protects individual freedom and limits federal government power by delegitimizing the Court which is specifically created to protect those liberties.

Lincoln’s National Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer was observed April 30, 1863. Two days later, a freak accident occurred which changed the course of the war.

This whole sorry Trayvon Martin ordeal and all the satellite stories that have come from it this week, just further illustrate the diseased culture of the Left. The Democrats are no one’s friend, but the people in the black community are largely blind to this fact. Since the 1960s, when the welfare state was established and the entitlement mentality was hatched in the hearts of so many Americans, the black family itself has spiraled steadily downward toward disintegration.

Why is freedom of speech such a great target of the communist Left? It is because those of us who understand the goals of the Left, and are willing to speak out, represent a serious threat to the Left’s power structure. When we publicly tell the truth about their evil plans for our nation, more and more people wake up and see the communist Left for what it is. People who have been lulled to sleep by the lies of the propaganda mouths in the media often wake up when they hear the truth.

When feminists talk about abortion, they do so in terms of women’s rights. Legalized abortion empowers women, they assert, because it puts them in control over their bodies; it gives them the choice whether or not to bear a child who has been conceived. What these proponents of “liberty” fail to consider, however, is that in many cases women are “choosing” abortion at the behest of someone else.

It’s high time that black people learn that people with black skin are just as capable of self-serving lies, deceit and betrayal as people with white skin. Those things come not from skin color, but from the heart. Until black people reject racism in all its forms, including their own, then…”here we go again.”

In the last battle of the War of 1812, General Andrew Jackson defeated 10,000 British troops, suffering only 71 casualties as compared to the British’s 2,000. On MARCH 25, 1835, Andrew Jackson wrote in a letter: “Our excellent Constitution guarantees to every one freedom of religion, and charity tells us (and you know Charity is the real basis of all true religion)…judge the tree by its fruit.”

Today America is in the midst of a revolution and we need practical suggestions for the very large and the very small for the societal and cultural level and the personal level if we are to understand what is happening, what is about to happen and what we should do.

In this series we are looking at the Fama-French three-factor model of investment returns. Any model of investment returns tries to predict an investment’s returns and volatility by factors that can be measured in advance of investing. The first factor, beta, taught us that the riskier, more volatile stocks on average have better returns. The second factor of investing is size as measured by a stock’s total capitalization. A stock’s capitalization is found by multiplying the current share price times all the outstanding shares of stock.

Rufus King, born MARCH 24, 1755, was one of the youngest signers of the U.S. Constitution, only 32 years old. A Harvard graduate, Rufus King was an aide to General Sullivan during the Revolutionary War. Rufus King later served as U.S. Minister to England and a U.S. Senator from New York. He said, “I hold that all laws or compacts imposing any such condition as slavery upon any human being are absolutely void because they are contrary to the law of nature, which is the law of God.”

I woke up to hearing President Barack Obama saying that if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon, the young man who was killed in Florida by a Neighborhood Watchman. You know what? We should want to see the same thorough investigation regardless of the skin color of the victim, or who he might have looked like.

I just love those rare moments when liberals tell the truth, even if it’s not the whole truth. Just a little bit of light breaking through and shining on their dark agenda is like stumbling across a rare gem or a pot of gold. Like when Frances Fox Piven of the famed anti-American “Cloward-Piven Strategy” admitted that communists, socialists and Democrats are all peas in the same pod, and that the Occupy movement is thoroughly Leftist.

As the Supreme Court starts its three-day marathon Monday to hear arguments on the constitutionality of the health care law known as “Obamacare,” let’s be clear about the justices’ challenge, and ours. It’s about applying, in good faith, the principles that define this country and assuring that our government operates in a fashion consistent with those principles. This country is about freedom. When we lose it, we lose our country. This is what the Supreme Court should be thinking about when it hears the arguments on Obamacare.

It appears political radio commentator and columnist Gina Miller has been caught up in the “Rush net,” the campaign being waged by Leftists to silence their political enemies from the airwaves. It does not matter that the Left has mouthpieces in ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times, Newsweek, Time, US News & World Reports and more–they must silence ALL dissenting voices that expose their corrosive agenda.
