News Crew Accosted by Occupy Portland Marxists
Yesterday a KGW news crew came out to the Occupy Portland UCC (Urban Camping Commune, pronounced “Yuck”) and was accosted by the Marxists therein. The man in this video seems desperate to convince himself that he’s doing the right thing, continually reciting “We are the 99%; you are the 1%” like a positive-thinking mantra. Then he claims he doesn’t want violence, while trying to incite violence with the news crew. This is what democracy looks like?
The meaning of freedom: Reagan
Ronald Reagan had great foresight into where the American Left wants to take this country. His pronouncements now are prophetic, especially in light of the OWS movement and the Obama regime. A look at the short clips in this video provides lucid insight as to the enemy with which we are confronted. Do we have [...]
More Love and Tolerance from the Left
Ah, don’t you love that love from the Left! Here’s some more of that “tolerance” the Left is so famous for, as a pack of occupationist Marxists from Obamaville deride and demean a bank security guard. That’s it, guys. Insult a person who is working for a living, who is producing, who is doing a noble thing in protecting property from theft and vandalism.
Why Marxists and Anti-Semites Come Together in Occupy Wall Street
It can be very difficult to understand all the extremists, freaks and radicals on the Left, especially how they often gel together with other extremists and freaks that, at first blush, one might think were like oil and water. But when you look more closely at what each of these seemingly disparate groups believe and what drives them, it starts to make sense.
Herman Cain on Jimmy Kimmel
Herman Cain appeared on Jimmy Kimmel last night and had a great interview. They briefly talked about the latest allegation of sexual harassment against him, about the “Cain train,” about his upcoming press conference, about smoking, about pizza, and other things. It looked like Cain had a great time and there were plenty of laughs. Check it out.
Vote as if Your Country is at Stake, Because it is
Today is Election Day across the nation, and although it is not a presidential election year, we must not underestimate the importance of going to the polls and voting. Not as many states have elections this year, but each state and each race is important. In some countries, people risk their lives to vote. Will you cast aside this precious liberty as if it didn’t matter?
Rep. Noem Testimony on Farm Dust Regulation
Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) is trying to stop the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from further extending its reach into Americans’ lives by blocking their efforts to regulate farm dust. Dust in a farming operation is natural and a simple fact of life–but not beyond the clutches of professional regulators, if they have their way.
Cancer-Causing Airport Scanners? Enough Is Enough
Remember those whole-body, X-ray scanners the government installed in airports across the country and kept insisting were so safe? It turns out that they’re not so safe, after all. According to an investigative report by ProPublica/PBS NewsHour, anywhere from six to 100 U.S. airline passengers each year could get cancer from the machines.
Birds of a Feather: Who’s With the Occupy Movement
PJ Media recently compiled a list that shows which individuals and organizations have “expressed their support for, sponsorship of, or sympathy for the Occupy Wall Street movement.” From this list, you can tell a lot about the people and organizations that support this public temper tantrum of envy and covetousness known as “Occupy Wall Street.” You can also tell a lot about the Occupy Wall Street movement by the people who support and have sympathy for it. People and groups aren’t going to support something that is wholly or even mostly going in a different direction than they are.
Discussing Political Culture With Thomas Sowell
This is an excellent “Uncommon Knowledge” with Peter Robinson interview of economist Thomas Sowell. Sowell has a new book out called The Thomas Sowell Reader. Among the topics discussed are his life, economic differences in people groups, class warfare, Karl Marx and many others. It’s a lengthy interview, but you won’t be disappointed if you make the time.
Who Votes for Democracy?
We are witnessing the tyranny not of the majority but instead of the majority of voters coming to fruition. In America in a typical election, only 50% or less of eligible voters bothers to cast their ballot. Many congressional districts are gerrymandered into personal possessions, local counties, cities and states belong to good-old-boy networks and the Senate is the province of millionaire media stars. The uninformed elect the unqualified to give them what is unearned.
Why I Lean Libertarian
If you are tired of the continual government corruption and the senseless rules and spending, most of which fail to avoid mishaps, you may want to rethink your political philosophy. This isn’t a choice between good government and bad government. Much of government by its very nature does more harm than good.
One initiated measure is alive and the other one is dead
In an August column I wrote what were to be two initiated measures to be voted on in South Dakota’s November 2012 General Election. Now, a week after the deadline, one of them will not see the inside of the ballot box. The dead one was whether or not we wanted to join the winner-take-all movement for electing U.S. presidents. The other was whether or not South Dakotans wanted to raise the sales tax by one penny.
Dakota Voice Week in Review, Ending Nov. 5, 2011
The hottest and most read articles at Dakota Voice last week, including: Rick Santorum is right on the issues; Occupy Oakland Throws Bottles at Police, Blames Police; Police State TSA is Trucking Right Along; Media to Herman Cain: You Tell Us What You Did; Obama Makes Contempt for Christian Heritage Clear; George Will: GOP Shouldn’t Settle for a RINO; All the Corporations Patronized by Occupy Wall Street; Instead of Eating the Rich, Occupationists Start to Eat Each Other; and more!
The Latest High-Tech Lynching
Clarence Thomas’ words from some 20 years ago are once again applicable, this time concerning Herman Cain: “This is a circus. It is a national disgrace. It is a high tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves . It is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order you will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured, rather than hung from a tree.” The Left just can’t seem to help itself, can it?
Marxists Show Underwear at Occupy DC
The Marxist loons from the Occupy Wall Street (aka BoWeL Movement, or Bolshevik Western League) in Washington DC really showed their dirty underwear. They got into the street and blocked cars from leaving a convention center, they blocked the doors and prevented even a woman in a wheelchair from leaving, and accosted a child. “This is what democracy looks like,” they chanted. I don’t think so.
Greedy Michael Moore Does Nothing for Needy
A local Denver TV reporter asked Marxist hypocrite Michael Moore at an Occupy Denver event about his wealth, and when he did, Moore got very testy with him. This is a rare and commendable piece of real journalism on the part of reporter Evrod Cassimy. The “mainstream” media usually gives Leftists a pass on tough questions, especially when their hypocrisy and lies would be exposed by such questions. I hope Cassimy doesn’t get fired by his superiors.
Rick Santorum is right on the issues
Santorum may be dragging the rear in the line-up of Republican presidential candidates, but I am grateful to him for being the only candidate who insists that the so-called “social issues” remain an integral, explicit part of his agenda. I think it is a sign of our deeply troubled and lost society that so many don’t grasp the validity of Santorum’s claim that morality and economy cannot be separated.
Journalist Gropes When Asked About Sexual Harassment
This video from the Daily Caller features Michelle Fields talking to some notable figures at a book signing for Chris Matthews about the anonymous sexual harassment allegations against Herman Cain which go back to the 1990s.Notice the touching and arm-draping of Washington Post vice president and former executive editor Ben Bradlee, the first of which is at about 1:04 into the video, and again at about 2:20.
American Republic Turning to Ineptocracy
I’m afraid a new term might accurately describe our current situation, because it does appear we may be on the verge of trading in our 200+ year old republic for an ineptocracy. Ineptocracy – a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
