You have to love the “mainstream” media. Not only have they been in the tank for the Left for years, now they’re adding “profoundly lazy” to “reliable Leftist bias” on their resume. Why do I say that? They don’t know what Herman Cain is supposed to have done, but by golly he needs to explain it to us. I wonder if Cain has ever been in a Turkish prison?
Reason TV did an interview of Star Parker, founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE). In the opening of the interview, she nails the socialist approach of the Left to the wall: “This whole notion that we should even have a ‘war on poverty’ dismisses the fact that individuals have a role in their own lives.”
Your immediate response may be, “What does Christianity have to do with economics?” In response, I would say: everything, if you think of economics as the system and means of production and exchange whereby people meet their own and each other’s essential needs. What qualifies Christianity to speak on economics? Simply put, to properly understand economics, you must begin with a proper understanding of man.
The Leftists in Oakland’s “Occupy Wall Street” effort are all upset that police used riot gas against them when they tried to remove these filthy squatters from public property. In Occupy Oakland, the “peaceful” Marxists started throwing bottles and rocks at police before any riot control techniques were used, and the Marxist spokesperson admits this…before continuing to blame police.
In a video reminiscent of my “Spitting in the Wind” article a few weeks ago, and the enlightening graphic someone came up with to show how much the Occupy Wall Street idiots owe to the corporate structure they so loathe, The Unlikely Conservative has put together a short video to help us all better understand the dedication of this movement. He points out how the average Marxist hairball protester probably patronizes a minimum of 22 evil corporations in a hard day of railing about evil corporations.
America has provided more freedom for more people than any other country that has ever existed. It is also my opinion that powers of anti-freedom have sought to regain control since the Revolution, and if those who have been too busy working and raising families don’t spend enough time to learn what history teaches we will soon earn the reward for the failure to hold on to the past. We will lose the future.
I don’t always agree with George Will; he sometimes waffles on conservative principles. But in his latest column today, he is definitely seeing clearly and has important words that every–EVERY–Republican and Republican-leaning independent should take to heart. Has conservatism come so far, surmounting so many obstacles, to settle, at a moment of economic crisis, for a RINO like Mitt Romney?
The best of the best at Dakota Voice last week, including: Mitt Romney Thinks You’re Stupid; Rewriting History to Elect a Dubious Future; America a Christian Nation; Sex: To Be Used Responsibly; Southern Poverty Law Centers Despicable Lies; The Marxist Income Inequality Lie; Rep. Paul Ryan Smacks Un-American Class Warfare; I Like Guns; and more!
Here is an update from Alfonzo Rachel (a black Tea Partier, a man who allegedly doesn’t exist) on the Occupy Wall Street movement. Zo makes some interesting observations, such as the fact that while Oakland has a large black population, Occupy Oakland seems to be dominated by white kids. The lack of black faces at Tea Party events (when black Americans make up about 12% of the population) was supposed to indicate that the Tea Party movement was racist. Therefore, the occupationist movement must be racist.
Bill Whittle’s latest Afterburner provides an excellent lesson about the U.S. Constitution and the American way of life. Whittle also contrasts the vastly different ways in which the Left and the Right view the Constitution. While the Left sees it first as an obstacle to their glorious socialist revolution, and if they can’t get around it they’ll just “reinterpret” it to allow them to do what it clearly forbids. The Right sees the U.S. Constitution as, well, the highest law of our nation.
In a shocking display of journalism (wouldn’t it be incredible if other media outlets–especially national ones–saw this and emulated it?), ABC7 in Chicago has taken a look at the origins and players behind the Occupy Wall Street and the entire occupationist movement. They found that the movement wasn’t even sparked within the United States, and is aided by some anti-American rabble rousers who go way back.
A businesswoman in San Diego has learned a very costly lesson at the hands of the Marxist occupationists in her city. Their lawlessness, filth and threats have caused her to have to close her business which was located next to their encampment. Do you think there is a shred of remorse or regret on the part of the Marxist UCCers? Of course not. She is an evil business owner. She is a capitalist. She is part of the problem.
Last week, one of the Republican Party’s young stars, Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., spoke at the Heritage Foundation about the values that made America great. Our economic machine is sputtering today as a result of departure from these values. Today’s task is to restore them and get America growing again, which will benefit everyone. Americans must recapture what made this the world’s greatest, most prosperous nation.
Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt has compiled 10 good reasons why Christians should reject Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney as a Republican candidate for president. Those 10 reasons are just as relevant and applicable for Republicans in general as they are for Christians, because in all those ways, Romney is inconsistent with Republican values and the GOP platform.
Peter Schiff of Euro Pacific Capital went onto the street recently and had a conversation (or tried to) with the Marxists of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Revealed in this video clip is a startling revelation concerning Wal-Mart (and other businesses in America): employers don’t hold their employees hostage at gunpoint! Yes, it’s true: if people don’t like the pay and working conditions where they’re at, they can look for a job elsewhere! This may just revolutionize the plight of oppressed laborers in America!
Take a fresh look at a years-old statement by the great Milton Friedman on why capitalism is the best and most fair economic (and political, for that matter) system ever devised by man. He cuts right through the idealistic, utopian nonsense that was SOP on the metrosexual Phil Donahue show to inject a healthy dose of the real world.
Richard Epstein of the New York University School of Law explained simple economics to the Leftists at PBS recently. Somebody will probably get fired for allowing this guy on the air at Propaganda Broadcasting System, but for now be thankful for the lesson. We would so ourselves one better to worry less about what another person has that we don’t, and worry more about how we can work harder to reap more of the rewards to be found in this wonderful land of opportunity known as America.
We are not surprised at any fallacious rhetoric that emanates from the Southern Poverty Law Center. They have degenerated into nothing more than a radical leftist mouthpiece against Christian values, conservative principles and basically all members of center-rightAmerica, especially those of us who identify with the patriotic Tea Party movement. We know from where the real hatred and violence comes, and it is not from Christians telling the truth about homosexuality.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) spoke at the Heritage Foundation today regarding the Left’s corrosive class envy rhetoric. The American way isn’t coveting what your neighbor has. The American way isn’t trying to leverage the authority and power of government to take things from one American to give them to another American who hasn’t earned them. The American way is freedom, opportunity, and living with the consequences of our own good or bad choices.
On Faith Under Fire, historian David Barton and secularist Annie Lauri Gaylor debated the question of whether America is a Christian nation. Gaylor spun her best spin, but when the dust settled, the evidence told the story: America was founded by Christians on Christian principles, and the vast majority of Americans today still identify with Christianity.
Recently, federal Judge Mary Scriven in Florida issued a temporary injunction against the law which requires all candidates for welfare to be drug tested. Judge Scriven’s crusade against welfare drug-testing, backed by the ACLU, is nothing short of ridiculous. It assumes that receiving welfare is a right deserving of constitutional protection.
The following is from a press release from Rep. Kristi Noem’s (R-SD) office concerning the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) efforts to regulate dust on farms. Rep. Noem has sponsored legislation to prevent the EPA from intruding in this area. The release deals with erroneous beliefs concerning the EPA, farm dust, and attempts to regulate yet another area of American’s lives.
