The Black Hills Veteran’s Writing Group sponsored a 911 Tenth Anniversary Remembrance event yesterday at the Western Dakota Technical Institute. One of the featured speakers was Brigadier General Scott Vander Hamm who is the former commander of the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth AFB South Dakota and current commander of the B-2 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman AFB, Missouri. Vander Hamm has flown B-1 and B-2 missions into Afghanistan and Iraq in the post-911 war on terrorism. The Black Hills Veteran’s Writing Group sponsored a 911 Tenth Anniversary Remembrance event yesterday at the Western Dakota Technical Institute. One of the featured speakers was retired Colonel Debra Shattuck, who was in the Pentagon when one of the planes struck the building; Shattuck was subsequently the commander of the 28th Maintenance Group for the B-1 bomber at Ellsworth Air Force Base. The Black Hills Veteran’s Writing Group sponsored a 911 Tenth Anniversary Remembrance event yesterday at the Western Dakota Technical Institute. Featured speakers for the event were retired Colonel Debra Shattuck, who was in the Pentagon when one of the planes struck the building, and Brigadier General Scott Vander Hamm, former commander of the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth AFB and now commander of the B-2 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman AFB, Missouri. This video contains introductory remarks by moderator Shad Olson and the invocation by Capt. Leigh Batts, USAF chaplain.
