As incredulous as it may seem, we’re starting to hear that Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney may be trying to cozy up to the Tea Party. If the Tea Party has half the sense God originally gave them, Romney will get nothing but a cold shoulder from them, because Romney is big-time on the wrong side of some core Tea Party issues–not to mention core Republican issues–like government health care and global warming.

Tragically, Gary Harvey of Horsehead, NY fell down the basement stairs inanuary of 2006 and received a traumatic head injury. Sara Harvey, Gary’s wife, is desperately fighting to get him home. One can only wonder how much he knows of what is going on around him. The following could be what he is thinking as he lays alone in that room, so isolated from the world he knew and the wife and friends he so loves.

The communist Left in the media and government has been trying desperately, and against all truth and reason, to label as terrorists those of us who identify, or are involved with, the Tea Party movement. When it comes to those on the radical Left, truth is the very first casualty in the content their thoughts, speech and actions. Government agencies and international institutions that have worked tenaciously to vilify carbon dioxide (CO2) as a dangerous pollutant have done a great public disservice, Dr. Craig Idso, a scientist and author told audience members at the American Legislative Exchange Council’s (ALEC) annual meeting earlier this month. Do you know what Lt Col West meant when he replied to this organization which serves as apologists for Muslim extremism?

In his latest “Klavan on the Culture,” Andrew Klavan examines the iconic, mindless-liberal slogan/bumper sticker “War is not the answer.” Sounds good…if you’re about five years old and don’t have a clue about the real world or about the nature of evil. Unfortunately that is the mental level on which most liberals operate, especially when it comes to the nature of evil. As reality shows, frequently, war IS the answer.

The socialist utopians who have been driving Western culture for the last several decades have tried desperately to believe and sell the belief that morality can be divorced from the “real world” and public policy without adverse consequences. Yet everywhere we look (if we look), we can see that this is nothing but an absolute lie. There is always a price to be paid, a pain to be felt, for violating the moral law. Britain is finding this out in spades with days-on-end of riots, but America has lessons to learn, too.

An executive order (E.O.) is a direct mandate from the President that is implemented by the Executive branch. It has the full force of law and can be enacted immediately. If that thought scares you, congratulations, you have a functioning brain. In our nation of checks and balances, we need to start making sure that the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed in these executive orders, otherwise we could end up blindsided with a rule that we have no control over, but that has full control over us.

President Obama has just launched the Misery Tour, a taxpayer-funded campaign bus trip to help the president’s sagging poll numbers and help ensure another another four years of economic malaise while he attempts to redistribute our wealth. And he’s riding in a million-dollar armored bus that you got to pay for!

No big surprise here, but if you had any doubts that the socialist Democrats were going to use the asinine “super committee” organ that came out of the worthless “debt deal” a couple of weeks ago as nothing more than a vehicle to continue their same old Marxist class warfare agenda, let those doubts evaporate now.

The mainstream media is trying hard to ignore Herman Cain, and I know why. They fear Mr. Cain, because he is every good thing that Barack Obama is not. He is the anti-Obama. The contrast between the two men could not be greater. Mr. Cain loves God and America. Obama has demonstrated no love for either, and in fact it could easily be argued that Obama hates this country. Unlike the Community-Organizer-in-Chief, Cain is a talented business man whose life is a miraculous tale of inspiration and achievement.

See how wonderful life is in a Marxist utopia like North Korea, where unruly serfs are taught to appreciate how good they have it in the worker’s paradise.

As the riots in the UK continued over the weekend, British Prime Minister David Cameron has finally recognized and had the boldness to articulate the root cause of these days and nights of chaos and destruction. Cameron blamed the riots on irresponsibility, selfishness, denial of consequences and a general moral deterioration of the country. He asked if the country has the determination to confront generations of “moral collapse.”

I’ve been more than a little lukewarm about a Rick Perry presidential candidacy. From his record on mandatory STD vaccinations for young girls, to his glowing words for a Muslim imam, to a soft record on illegal immigration and signing “hate crimes” law, he’s less than the best Republican presidential candidate. But he did have the courage to call Social Security (and such entitlement programs) the Ponzi scheme that they are this weekend. We should give credit where credit is due.

Judges beyond reproach with no challenges allowed? Perhaps once upon a time, but maybe not so much anymore. Maybe the challenges are now being taken seriously and will be taken even more seriously in the days to come! It’s time for justice to prevail for one and all in all courts under all circumstances!

Standard & Poor’s (S&P) downgraded U.S. debt, and the administration and others pushed the idea that most of the blame was due to the intransience of the Tea Party. Calling this a “Tea Party downgrade” might be true in one sense. There weren’t enough members of the Tea Party to overcome the stubbornness of those refusing to make real spending cuts.If this was a Tea Party downgrade, it is only because the Tea Party wasn’t strong enough to overcome congressional politics as usual.

If History doesn’t help us to live in the present it is merely curiosity or voyeurism that compels us to gaze upon the past. Everyone knows and many people say, “Those who fail to learn from History are doomed to repeat it.” I believe that a historical context is necessary for any understanding of the present. I also believe that a lack of historical context is one of the major contributing factors to the current state of affairs in America. I do not, however, believe that historical events repeat.

Learning all the new buzz words related to the internet’s social networking is a rather tough assignment for a lot of us, especially those of us who are passed retirement age. Still, those of you who are still part of the younger bunch can learn from the old codger set. That is if you are willing and intelligent enough to listen. Social networking, especially from a moving car or sending the wrong information about yourself can hurt you ­and even kill.

I do not think it too strong or sensational to say that we are witnessing the collapse of Western civilization. Across the Western world, the fruits of apostasy and secularism are manifesting themselves in overwhelmingly destructive ways. The church—which was once the moral authority in the West—has rendered itself irrelevant and marginalized in the public square. What is to become of a culture whose conscience is paralyzed?

Medicare Part D, the prescription drug program that was made law in 2003, is not so great. Enormous amounts of publicity, news articles, and claims were made that this would help senior citizens with prescription drug care costs. But, when it first went into effect, our office had dozens of senior citizen clients claiming that they were paying more for prescription drugs under the new law than before the law.

Mitt Romney caught some unfair and ignorant heat this past week when he tried to explain something to some Marxist hecklers at a campaign stop. As Romney attempted to explain how we might deal with the entitlement programs that are crippling our nation, Marxists in the audience cried out for the taxation of corporations. In a quick, off-the-cuff retort, Romney said, “Corporations are people, my friend.” Romney was ridiculed for this statement…but what if he was right?

The Rapid City Journal reports today that Steve Laurenti is joining Jeanette Deurloo and Tom Murphy, a former Rapid City Alderman who is having or has had a sex change operation and now goes by “Marla Murphy.”
