Former Homosexual Defends Bachmann’s Counseling Clinic
A few days ago I examined the “mainstream” media’s latest effort to smear GOP presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN). The newest media frenzy involved an “undercover operation” with someone going to the counseling clinic run by the Bachmann’s supposedly seeking help for their homosexual tendencies, but just looking for fodder for ridicule. But Greg Quinlan, President of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays and Executive Director of Equality and Justice For All, exposes the hysteria against the Bachmann’s by homosexual activists and their stooges in the “mainstream” media.
World Net Daily Defends Against Islamist Enemies Within America
The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood front group, has become infamous for its stealth legal jihad in the United States. One of CAIR’s nefarious purposes is to spread Islamic Shariah law in America through extensive litigation. WorldNetDaily published a book called “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America” and now CAIR has filed a lawsuit trying to silence this information from getting out.
Rep. West Addresses Fiscal Negotiations
Rep. Allen West (R-FL) was interviewed yesterday concerning the ongoing budget and deficit negotiations between Democrats and Republicans, and the fear-mongering being done (as usual) by Democrats to protect their welfare state. West called President Obama’s claims of Social Security checks not being delivered “leadership by intimidation and scare tactics.”
Further Proof Homosexuality and Marriage are Exclusive States
There are a number of compelling reasons why homosexual behavior and the proposition of allowing homosexuals to counterfeit marriage should never be accepted as legitimate. These reasons include the aberrant nature of the behavior, the fact that it is contrary to scientific and biological principles, it is extremely unhealthy, it is changeable, and it relies on a suspension of common sense to have any hope of credibility. Another important reason is that monogamy–a key element in any marriage–is almost nonexistent in the homosexual community.
When You’re Conservative, Reporting Crimes to Police=Wimpy
Alana Goodman at Commentary Magazine points out that the “mainstream” media’s hysterical war against conservative women continues. Apparently the Miami Herald considers it unacceptable for a conservative woman to report crimes to the police. The “mainstream” media’s shameless efforts to smear their guy’s (Barack Obama) opponents will boggle the imagination, and they’ve only just begun.
Fast and Furiously Stealing the Second Amendment
By now, you have certainly heard about Project Gunrunner and the recently revealed Fast and Furious operation, a scandal that could eclipse even Watergate in the extent of the government cover-up, as fall-out from it continues to descend on the Obama administration. Along with other rights, like our First Amendment-sworn right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion, our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms is a right with which the communist elites in our out-of-control government are desperate to do away, and it looks like they have been going to outrageous lengths to create false excuses to do so.
Media Smears Conservatives, Endangers Homosexuals
In the latest news from the battlefront in the “mainstream” media’s all-out war against surging Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, ABC “News” has deemed it necessary to conduct an undercover investigation of the Bachmann’s counseling clinic in a fresh effort to smear her and paint her as a loony extremist (a loony extremist to the “mainstream” media means you’re squarely in “normal” territory).
DOMA Protects Marriage From Animus of Homosexual Activists
The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) blog says the Obama Administration has once again declared its hostility toward marriage and sexual morality by claiming that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), passed by congress and signed into law by Democrat President Bill Clinton, was motivated by “animus” toward homosexuals. As usual, the Marxist social engineers who inhabit the White House at the moment have the situation exactly reversed.
Has the Light Come on in Congress?
The Better Use of Light Bulbs (BULB) Act could very well turn the lights back on for those in favor of the incandescent light bulb. Expected to receive a vote in the House of Representatives very soon, the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s legislation, H. R. 2417, would “repeal a provision in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 that requires traditional incandescent light bulbs to be 30 percent more energy efficient beginning in 2012,” according to an article in The Hill.
Getting to the Bottom of the Debt Limit
Often times, someone outside the family is better able to define a problem or the real issues in a conflict than those in the middle of the dispute. So it is that Jeremy Warner of London’s Daily Telegraph put his finger squarely on the real, underlying nature of the blood-fest surrounding the proposed increase in the national debt ceiling.
Stick It To the Rich…Or Treat All Americans Equally?
The Marxists infesting our country want to gin up as much class warfare as they can, enticing some Americans to envy and hate their fellow Americans because they have more. This envy is typically promoted by spreading the lie that wealthy Americans aren’t paying “their fair share” of the tax burden. So are “the rich” not paying their fair share–and more–already? The answer might surprise you.
The Ratification Debate Part Two
New Speak is nothing new in politics, and the concept of words having power to shape reality was not invented by George Orwell. Look at the original debate of the ratification of the Constitution, and as a consequence how we have studied, learned, and even shaped the debate in this lecture concerning the ratification of the Constitution. First, what about the terms, “Federalist” and “Anti-Federalist” how appropriate were they during the debate?
‘Go Fishing’ with Hard Asset Stocks
Hard assets have been one of the most significant asset classes over the last decade. From all indications, it will continue to be a critically important investment category to protect your portfolio from the effects of inflation and the continuing devaluation of the U.S. dollar. Creating a gone-fishing portfolio begins with a top-level asset allocation.
Last week was the biggest birthday party of all
Last week’s birthday of the nation was an unusual one for the Garnos family (I’ll explain later). Therefore, today’s column was written on Independence Day, the Fourth of July. It is of reflections of what the day and our American flag mean as the two are inseparable. One is from a National Guardsman and there is one or two from this columnist. Did the day and the flag have any special meaning to you other than it was a great day to barbecue and shoot fireworks?
Dakota Voice Week in Review, Ending Jul. 9, 2011
The best of the best from Dakota Voice last week, including: Independents: Enlightened or Ideologically Lazy?; Sexuality Can Be Bent–And Straightened; Romney Reckless on Radical Environmentalism; America Suffering from Oikophobia Outbreak; Real Republicans Are Foul-Mouthed Opponents of the Family; Reagan Honored for Freedom in Europe; Obama Should Get Out of Texas Business; and more!
Blame it on the Devil
Zo has really been hitting on all cylinders lately. His newest video plays off the new book from his friend Ann Coulter called Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America. Among the important truths he examines: the exploitive nature of liberalism, the projectionist accusations of the Left, and the entitlement mindset of the Left.
Not Guilty!
Casey Anthony’s acquittal of the killing of her precious child, Caylee, has shocked the nation. A justice system that allows for the possibility of the guilty going free is undoubtedly unpalatable for those who wish to see Caylee Anthony’s death avenged, but it is a standard that recognizes and upholds the notion that life and liberty should not be deprived without due process of law. It’s not a perfect system, but none better has yet been devised by man.
A few rich libertarians undermine freedom
The New York Magazine headline reads: “You Can Thank a Few Rich Libertarians for Gay Marriage.” The story is that a $1-million contribution by several rich Republican hedge fund operators, ” inclined to see the issue as one of personal freedom, consistent with their libertarian views,” was key to legalization of same sex marriage in New York. But this counterfeiting of marriage does not expand freedom but rather seeks to redefine a fundamental truth. It’s been said that when words lose their meaning, people lose their liberty. It’s something all of us, even wealthy libertarians, should keep in mind.
Americans Must Live Worthy of the Name
Every now and then, one reads a piece of commentary that sums up an important truth with consummate skill that one is left in sober contemplation for some time thereafter. Maggie Gallagher’s latest article entitled “Can We Keep Our Republic?” examines the similarities and differences between America and Rome, and crystallizes an important truth about the way in which a shared idea can move a civilization.
Noem on Unemployment, Economy
In the latest job numbers, unemployment is up to 9.2% and overall the economy still looks very anemic, despite being over 2 years into the Obama Administration and the waste, er, expenditure of a trillion dollars in porkulus, er, stimulus spending. South Dakota’ s Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) hits the nail on the head when she says in this press conference that in order to get the economy going again, we need to stop wasting money, stop calling for more taxes on the American people and American businesses, and stop burdening us all with more onerous government regulations.
The Futility and Folly of Environmental Extremism
The Institute for Energy Research (IER) has an interesting piece on Britain’s blunder of relying in wind power. This study finds that because wind energy comes and goes with the wind, many fossil fuel power plants are needed to back up wind power. And when these fossil fuel power plants power up and down, they create more emissions than they do when they run at a steady load. So wind energy costs more and creates more emissions than fossil fuel energy.
US House Moves to Block Pentagon DOMA Violations
The Family Research Council (FRC) praised the U.S. House of Representatives today for overwhelmingly approving U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx’s (R-NC) amendment to the 2012 defense appropriations bill that would prohibit using Pentagon funds in contradiction of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman for all federal purposes.
Abortion enthusiast attacks
Another example of violence perpetrated by Leftists that will likely never be prosecuted. Attacks on Christians in particular are getting more frequent and more violent. I suppose that people who have no conscience about ripping babies into shreds of flesh would likewise have no problem attacking those with whom they disagree.
