President Barack Obama signed off on allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the U.S. military today, and barring a miracle the decision will take effect on our armed forces in 60 days. This further illustrates that elections have serious consequences, often very bad ones. A growing number of people are pointing out that the entire DADT repeal was handled in a dishonest fashion from the start, and even now there are pertinent documents that are being kept from the public. The American people have a right to full disclosure when their safety–which depends on military readiness and effectiveness–is being undermined.
This petulant man-child of a president truly thinks everyone is supposed to just bow and scrape before his superior intellect and magesty. Between President Obama’s “summoning” of co-equal leaders to his throne room, his dictating terms to the “mainstream” media, and his expectation to have everything done his way or else, we are seeing behind the curtain of an imperial presidency.
This week, Senator Tom Coburn released a 600-page plan that would reduce the deficit by $9 trillion over the next ten years by slashing wasteful spending and eliminating an estimated $1 trillion in tax deductions. The plan is not a gimmick, it’s not smoke and mirrors, and it’s not a media stunt. Thankfully, the American people – unlike their representatives in Washington – still retain a measure of common sense. They don’t need a government funded study to tell them what they already know: when it comes to budgets and taxpayer funded expenditures, size matters.
Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is also Democratic National Committee chair, suggested that the nasty email she got from her state’s Republican counterpart Allen West, responding to her attack on him in the House of Representatives, resulted from him being “under pressure.” Of course, Allen West is under pressure. As is every freedom loving American, as we watch our great country sink. Given the damage inflicted by Wasserman Schultz and her party to our nation, Allen West has been quite the gentleman.
