Seldom have I heard the essense of liberalism captured and defined so well as I did here at the PowerLine blog by John Hinderaker. He starts this paragraph by telling us, “Liberalism is a sort of parasite that feeds on the wealth that free enterprise creates,” and it only gets more descriptively dead-on from there. Intellectual and verbal precision excites me! I’m going to glow all day now.

Watching this video clip, I find myself in another of those moments that come all too often these days. This one is one of the more extreme, but it’s typical of the surrealism that a normal, rational person faces when they listen to a liberal. As is usually the case, Leftists are projecting their own pathetic behavior onto their political enemies. Put simply, they are blaming their enemies for what they themselves are already doing. There are now Tea Party-inspired adults raining on their spending parade, and now they’re throwing a tantrum.

You’ve no doubt heard of if not see zombie movies like “Dawn of the Dead,” “Day of the Dead,” “Walking Dead,” and so forth. The Power Line Blog has taken the zombie genre and adapted it to make a 5-minute video about the “Dawn of the Debt,” and how massive, crippling debt has cast its shadow across our land.

Once more we learn that the “science” of anthropogenic global warming is really just more of the guesswork that so often passes itself off as “science” these days. A new study by Dr. Roy Spencer, a leading scientist with the Earth System Science Center at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, found that much more heat is being bled off into space by our atmosphere than was previously thought, and that this bleed-off begins much earlier in the warming process than thought.

Campus Crusade for Christ, one of the world’s leading evangelistic ministries, is changing its name. Apparently the passage of time and changing cultural sensitivities have made its old name – in place since its founding on the campus of UCLA in 1951 by Bill and Vonette Bright – a liability. According to Steve Sellers, Cru’s U. S. Vice President, more people are willing to listen to their message about Christ if His name is not included in the ministry’s name.

A life of government guarantees and controls is not a formula for building wealth. Freedom and capital markets are. Blacks need to decide which they want. And entrepreneurship must become part of black culture. Blacks need to get that poor people are not poor because rich people or rich. The formula for more black wealth: less government, more ownership and initiative.

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) was strongly supported by the Tea Party in 2010, and he supports the Tea Party and their core values of limited government and fiscal responsibility. But now some serious disagreement has sprang up between West and some Tea Party supporters. West has announced he will support Speaker John Boehner’s latest bill which does little to cut the budget and little to deal with our nation’s crippling $14 trillion debt. In response, some of his supporters are now on the warpath and are threatening to run someone against him in next year’s primary.

The Leftist Democrats have been whining (as they always do) for weeks now for “compromise, compromise, compromise” on the looming debt and credit rating situation. Senator Harry Reid showed us today exactly what liberals mean when they ask for conservatives to “compromise”: shut up and do it my way.

August 2nd as a deadline to avert default is nothing more than a lie by Obama. Republicans have all but ceded that debate, however, and refuse to call Obama out. The agencies are not rating Washington’s unwillingness to borrow more, but politicians’ reluctance to stop borrowing so much. Meaning, whoever votes for a bill that ensures a downgrade — or signs it — owns that downgrade politically. Like the ancient Mariner who killed the ship’s good luck, the albatross, politicians will be made to wear AA as a shameful reminder of Washington’s greed, avarice, and profligacy.

Steven Crowder’s latest “Louder With Crowder” video is not only funny but highly educational. Steven discussed the financial bailouts of a couple of years ago with Mark Matson of Matson Money who manages $2.7 billion in wealth. He called it a scam and crony capitalism, which is what it was. Matson went on to discuss the East India Trading Company which was “too big to fail,” yet when it did, the world didn’t come to an end as they claimed would happen on Wall Street.

How much is $14 trillion? Well, it the size of our federal debt, run up over several decades, several congresses and several presidents, with a couple of trillion thrown in during the last two years by President Obama and his fellow Democrats. Unfortunately those most responsible for this $14 TRILLION are the ones least interested in reducing it or getting spending under control.

Want to know part of what’s holding our economy back from recovery? It’s being gummed up with government regulations that slow down business and add to the cost of compliance. Let’s throw out these politburo types and put real Americans in office.

Have you ever wondered what it would look like or sound like when American socialists stare the possible end of their disgusting welfare state in the eyes? Well now you know, or at least you do if you’ve watched some of the coverage of the socialist Democrats in hysteria mode as the so-called debt ceiling deadline looms close with no deal in sight.

The great folks at the Media Research Center have put together a debate on the issues between Senator Barack Obama and President Barack Obama. These two individuals have striking differences on how they want to handle issues such as listening to the American people, enforcing the law including DOMA, forcing Americans to buy products they don’t want, and the use of the military.

A county supervisor in Riverside, California has a plan to split the state in two. The new state would be called South California and be the nation’s 51st state. These 13 counties would break away from the ultra-liberal, big-spending, high-taxing, over-regulating remainder of the state. State leaders don’t think too much of the plan, however.

Andrew Klavan provides a long-overdue lesson for liberals on what money is and where it comes from. Apparently our public indoctrination, er, education system no longer teaches things like money, economics, capitalism, a strong work ethic, fairness, the American way, taxes, limited government, and so on. An atomic bomb of words rocked the conservative talk radio world on Tuesday evening when Dr. Michael Savage signed on to his national radio show and declared that the accused mass murderer from last Friday’s horrific shootings and bombing in Oslo, Anders Breivik, is a Christian. Many of you in this listening audience heard his words, since we carry Dr. Savage’s show on this station, and I suspect many of you, like me, thought, “Please don’t do this, Dr. Savage!”

You may have seen this in your inbox at some time or another. I know I’ve seen it at least a time or two before it came in again yesterday. A lot of these emails I get from people, I delete them with hardly more than a glance. But this one really caught my eye afresh, maybe because I am so sick and tired of these elitist idiots in Washington D.C. who think they know infinitely so much more than everyone else, that we peons and serfs out here in flyover country just don’t understand like they do why it is so important to spend trillions of dollars we don’t have on things our government shouldn’t be doing–and obviously does a pathetically poor job of doing anyway.

They examine how most of our budget is spent on unconstitutional entitlement programs, and 40% of every dollar we spend is borrowed. This insanity must stop, and President Obama must be ignored by congress if need be in order to develop a sane plan to restore our nation to fiscal responsibility.

It’s hard for most Americans to really grasp how phenomenally huge is our national debt of $14.2 TRILLION. This video helps break it down a little so that the human mind can come a little closer to comprehending how much $14.2 trillion is…and how badly we need to STOP THE IRRESPONSIBLE SPENDING.

Oh, how the members of the leftist media and the communist Democrat establishment in America must have held their collective breath until their fear turned to relief in the revelation that the Oslo, Norway shootings and bombing, or bombings, were apparently not the work of Middle Eastern men between the ages of 19 and 34. A new study points out one of the many reasons why it’s a stinker: employers are already moving to drop health care coverage to allow their employees to fall onto the government plan.
