Dakota Thunder 2011
My family and I had the pleasure of attending Dakota Thunder 2011, the air show at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota yesterday. Among the demo teams that were featured: Viper West Demo Team, U.S. Army Golden Knights, Heavy Metal Jet Team, MiG Fury Fighters and more. There were flybys the B-1 bomber (stationed at Ellsworth) and the B-2 stealth bomber (stationed at Whiteman AFB, MO).
Enough from the Peanut Gallery
Now that they are safely ensconced on the sidelines however, Mitch Daniels, Mike Huckabee, and Donald Trump have all expressed their confidence that – had they chosen to run and secured their party’s nomination – they could have beaten the President. Other than being self-serving, such behavior serves no useful purpose. This behavior is not helpful, and does nothing to advance the conservative cause against Mr. Obama.
SOS: Speaking of Seniors: Pushing Costs Onto Seniors
I have a good track record of helping senior citizens by spotting problems with Medicare related medical bills, writing letters to correct the problems, and saving money for our senior citizen clients. In October 2010, I passed the one million dollar mark. But, I can’t fix a problem that is caused by a bad government policy.
Why 2012 election looks a lot like 1860
As the season of presidential politics 2012 unfolds, I’m struck by similarities between today and the tumultuous period in our history that led up to the election of Abraham Lincoln and then on to the Civil War. Profound differences and deep divisions separate us today as they did then, and another lesson to be learned from 1860 is that conventional wisdom of establishment pundits is not necessarily reliable.
The Middle East One-State Plan
In the interest of continuing efforts to find peace, Andrew Klavan has an idea which could genuinely bring lasting peace to the Middle East region. It’s a one-state solution where the entire Middle East is given to the Jews. This plan has a number of advantages including unprecedented religious freedom to the region.
Are You a Socialist?
The liberal tongue is so agile it can stretch any word or concept beyond all recognition. ‘Human rights,’ ‘constitutional,’ ‘family’ and ‘entitlements’ can all mean whatever the day’s marching orders dictate. Consider socialism: we all know what it is, we all know liberals love it, yet they insist they aren’t socialists and aren’t working for it. Why do they run from what they love so much?
Liberalism: When Informed Voters Are a Bad Thing
According to an article in the Rapid City Journal today, more information is bad when it comes to knowing where candidates stand on the issues. In the Rapid City election coming up next week, Family Matters PAC sent out a mailer concerning Ward 2 city council candidate Ritchie Nordstrom. The mailer indicates Nordstrom supports the homosexual agenda, and includes statements made by Nordstrom.
Real Health Care Reform: Free Market Has the Answers
This video from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation illustrates how utilizing free market solutions can help us get our out-of-control health care system back under control. Of course, you can ignore all this, you can completely ignore wisdom and common sense and allow the fear-mongering socialists to keep you enslaved to the sinking anchor that is their system. Or you can choose for yourself and your country the system that made us the greatest and most prosperous nation on earth in the first place.
Texans Demand State Resist Obama DOJ & TSA Bullying
As we enter hurricane season, it’s nice to see that my beloved home state of Texas might be ready to whip up a storm and tell the Obama administration to put it in their fascist pipe and smoke it. This has the potential to be a really nice, feel-good story, and we could certainly use one right now. The Lone Star State has been attempting to stop the outrageously invasive, criminal, police state, body-groping procedures of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Conservatives Need to Play Confrontational Politics
Grappling with the frustrating question of why their fellow conservatives will complain and whine all day, but do nothing when push comes to shove, is the source of endless vexation for the committed conservative. But H. L. Richardson has written a book called “Confrontational Politics” which can not only answer some of those questions for the frustrated conservative, but can help the timid conservative become a lion against liberalism. Being right is essential, but it isn’t enough to win political battles.
Palin and the Media: The Shoe on the Other Foot
Sarah Palin may just have hit upon the best way for a conservative or Republican to deal with the Leftist propaganda artists known as the “mainstream” media: have some fun with them, but don’t treat them seriously. Many in the lamestream media are indignant that she isn’t sucking up to them and is allowing them to make fools of themselves.
