Gina Miller on Gulf Coast News
Dakota Voice writer and Gulf Coast DJ Gina Miller was interviewed recently by Gulf Coast News on the American Forum with William Sackett. Profiling the views of powerful women, Sackett interviewed several of them including our Gina Miller. When asked about Dakota Voice, Gina replied that DV is “the answer to the secular ‘mainstream’ media.”
Govt Creates Atmosphere of Nervousness for Business
Raymond Keating, chief economist for the Small Business & Entrepreneurship (SBE) Council, said many businesses are nervous about the cost of energy, public policy changes, government spending and debt, and regulatory issues like ObamaCare. This atmosphere of uncertainty is causing businesses to hold off on hiring, investing and growing. All of this comes together to keep our economy struggling.
Poll: Americans Affirm Marriage is Between a Man and a Woman
Results from what is likely the most extensive national research survey of its kind show that 62 percent of Americans believe that “marriage should be defined only as a union between one man and one woman.” Fifty-three percent of Americans strongly agreed. The survey results mirror American voter behavior when faced with the decision to either affirm marriage in their state constitutions or leave it open to legal challenges or other attacks.
If Weiner is the Norm, Then the American Culture is Toast
New York Democrat Congressman Anthony Weiner has brought to the forefront an ugly aspect of America’s degenerate underbelly. Has America been asleep, or what? Or, have we simply looked the other way as our nation became a debauched, sex-bloated gutter? Regardless, we have no one to blame but ourselves for allowing our younger generations to be programmed as amoral sex machines.
Islamic Extremism Isn’t a Joke, Mitt
During Monday night’s GOP presidential debate, Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney seemed to think it was silly when Herman Cain said Muslim candidates for a presidential administration position should be closely scrutinized because of the conflicts between Islam and the American system of government. The silly one was Romney himself, and the evidence is very sobering.
Rep. Bachmann: Crazy Woman Believes in the Constitution
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), the latest Republican to throw his/her hat in the ring, did a fantastic job at Monday night’s debate in New Hampshire. Even a few liberals and member of the “mainstream” media found themselves grudgingly compelled to say a few nice things about her. But as some of the infobabes at CNN point out, she must kiss the ring of the RINOs in the GOP establishment to hope to win. Even then, she is out of touch with most Americans because she believes in a crazy religion called Christianity and bizarre ideas like freedom and limited government.
Hanks Campaign Ad May Backfire
Rapid City Mayor Alan Hanks let it be known when he came in second in a 4-way race for mayor that he planned to be more aggressive (read: play dirty?) in the runoff election…just as he did in 2007 when he sent out the infamous “Wingnut” flyer at RINO Stan Adelstein’s behest. Now we’re beginning to see what that “aggressive” campaign will look like…and perhaps Sam Kooiker should send Hanks a thank-you note.
NBA, Old Navy Lend Support to Radical Homosexual Movement
The NBA is partnering with homosexual activists to promote this dangerous behavior among teens. Some businesses like Old Navy are also committed to promoting homosexual behavior to impressionable young people through their clothing lines. These groups and businesses often employ the same bullying tactics they claim to oppose.
Results of the New Hampshire GOP Debate
The second GOP debate of the 2012 election season was held tonight in New Hampsire and aired on CNN. Present for the debate were the following candidates: Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, and Ron Paul. Questions dealt with what candidates would do to spur economic growth, ObamaCare, repealing ObamaCare, the Tea Party, bringing back jobs from overseas and more.
Homosexual Recruiting With Government Help
Last week we learned that the Obama Administration’s Department of Education was blocking reporters from viewing breakout sessions of the Education Department’s first ever Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Youth Summit. Now we are beginning to see why. A recording of David Hansell, an assistant secretary of HHS and head of the Administration for Children and Families, has been revealed in which he promotes recruiting more homosexuals to adopt and provide foster care for children. This is the last thing we should be doing to America’s children.
Fathers: Key to their Children’s Faith
It is time for fathers to return to honorable manhood and reconsider their priorities and realign them with God’s commands, decrees, and laws, teaching these things to your children “when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise.” It is the father who is essential for sending his children forth with a biblical view of reality and a faith in Jesus Christ that is rooted in solid understanding.
SWAT Team Mania: The War Against the American Citizen
It says something about our reliance on the military that federal agencies having nothing whatsoever to do with national defense now see the need for their own paramilitary units. Among those federal agencies laying claim to their own law enforcement divisions are the State Department, Department of Education, Department of Energy, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the National Park Service, to name just a few. These agencies have secured the services of fully armed agents–often in SWAT team attire–through a typical bureaucratic sleight-of-hand provision allowing for the creation of Offices of Inspectors General (OIG).
Positively Negative
The Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media constantly trumpets the claim that President Obama was a Professor of Constitutional Law. But in this long over looked quote from a radio interview a Pre-President Obama laments the negative liberties he sees as a flaw in the Constitution and waxes eloquent in defense of the redistribution of wealth and the positive power of an intrusive welfare state. Personal liberty is always and only possible when and where external control stops.
Continue to Avoid the “Ring-of-Fire” Countries
Americans seem to be divided on the importance of raising the U.S. debt ceiling. Regardless of your personal politics, avoid investing in countries that cavalierly allow their debt and deficit to balloon. Bill Gross, cofounder of the Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) and the country’s most prominent bond expert, coined the term “ring of fire” to highlight the dangers associated with countries with high debt and deficit. The eight countries he identified were Japan, Italy, Greece, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.
The trip to Mitchell was measured by Burma Shave and Quaker State signs
High gas prices hurt all of us because it is limiting visitors coming to South Dakota as well as cramping us from seeing the other parts of our beautiful state. In fact, the high gas prices remind me of the ration stamps during World War II that also limited our travel. The only difference is the ration stamps were needed because the gas was going to a good cause. Things are different today.
Dems object to amendments to DADT repeal bill
It never ceases to amaze me how Democrats will completely turn the debate on its head and claim to be advocating for the same values as mainstream Americans. Maintaining the values of thousands of years across a multitude of cultures and religions is a “radical social agenda” and despite two-and-a-half centuries of military success in keeping America safe and prosperous and “our families safe,” it can no longer be accomplished without unrestrained sodomy in our military ranks.
Dakota Voice Week in Review, Ending Jun 11, 2011
The best of the best at Dakota Voice last week, including: Herman Cain Can Win; Only remedy for Weiner is limited government; South Dakota Joins Amicus Brief Challenging NLRB Action; Herman Cain: Bring On the Alligators; Rick Santorum Doesn’t Drink AGW Koolaid; EPA Hypocrites; Mitt Romney: Just Another Liberal With an ‘R’ After His Name; and more!
Free Showing of ‘Blood Money’
There will be a free movie showing of the documentary “Blood Money” at the Elks Theater in Rapid City, Sunday June 12 at 3:00 pm. The film is a tastefully done film that shows the devastation of abortion on the lives of Mothers and families. It also exposes the true agenda of Planned Parenthood. The event is being sponsored by the Faith & Family Foundation.
Time for a Return to Checks and Balances
In 2007, Candidate Obama made it clear that the president does not have constitutional power to unilaterally authorize military action, but should seek advice and consent from Congress. My, what a difference an election makes. The Senator who made criticism of George W. Bush’s “imperial presidency” a cornerstone of his campaign is now, as President, quite oblivious to his own constitutional limitations with regard to executive power.
Only remedy for Weiner is limited government
The nation’s founders were realists, cynics if you prefer, regarding what to expect from human behavior. They created a form of government involving a republic, with a constitution limiting the powers of the federal government, which could protect from lascivious power seekers like Weiner and the liberals that have re-elected him seven times. The founders were right. Limited government enforced by a functioning constitution is our only hope.
South Dakota Joins Amicus Brief Challenging NLRB Action
Attorney General Marty J. Jackley announces that South Dakota has joined a multi-state amicus brief filed by Texas challenging the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) General Counsel’s action dealing with Boeing in South Carolina. The NLRB recently filed an action to prevent Boeing from opening a South Carolina assembly line claiming that the new facility would negatively impact Boeing’s unionized work force in the State of Washington.
A City Upon a Hill
There are a number of areas where I disagree with Newt Gingrich, but he seems to have put together a great film in “A City Upon A Hill: The Spirit Of American Exceptionalism.” The film not only examines what makes America unique in all the world, but looks at the threat facing the city upon a hill. As Andrew Breitbart says in this clip, “We’re at battle, quite frankly, between two competing values: the American system, and the European socialistic system.”
Air Show Teaches History
Shad Olson of the Shad Olson Show was at the Dakota Thunder 2011 Air Show at Ellsworth AFB last weekend, and has produced a great video presentation on the historical aircraft featured at Dakota Thunder. Aviation is relatively young in history, yet in such a short time, aviation has changed our world and changed the way we conduct warfare. See the tools that changed forever the very world we live in.
