President Obama: Osama Bin Laden is Dead
In a hastiliy-called late-night press conference from the White House, President Barack Obama announced to the American people that 911 terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden, on the run from the U.S. military for nearly 10 years, has finally been killed in Pakistan. Obama said a lead on bin Laden’s location came to light last August, and that today he had ordered a mission against a compound in Pakistan where American forces took possession of bin Laden’s body after a firefight.

Sunday evening word hit news outlets and the internet that President Barack Obama had called a press conference for 10:30 pm Eastern Time. The press conference got off to a late start, and about 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of the press conference, Geraldo Riveral on Fox News received word from his sources that Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the 911 terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, was dead.
