Tea Party Cleans Up After Wisconsin Socialists
The socialists have been showing us their underwear in Madison, Wisconsin as they demanded their full cut of the loot in the middle of a budget shortfall, and now they’ve left behind a mess…as socialist groups usually do. But some Tea Party patriots are going to clean up behind them…as patriotic Americans always do.
Recalculating the Odds: Obama and DOMA
The Scriptures haven’t changed, and neither has our Constitution or the need for stable, healthy families. The only thing that has changed with respect to the evolution of the President’s new found position on marriage is his political calculus. Apparently, the only firm foundation for the President’s convictions is the ever shifting tide of public opinion.
Union power is symptom of what ails us
Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO, argues that we have a “right” to collectively bargain. From whence do we supposedly get this “right? He cites the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Yes, the United Nations, who’s Human Rights Council includes China, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, and included, until just recently, Libya. This is the vision that inspires today’s union movement.
24/7 Sobriety Study: Program Participation Reduces Recidivism Rate
People convicted of drunk driving are less likely to re-offend after participating in South Dakota’s 24/7 Sobriety program than with traditional approaches to DUI offenders, a new study shows. Mountain Plains Evaluation has just released a study which found DUI offenders involved for at least 30 days in the 24/7 Sobriety program have a greatly reduced rate of recidivism compared with other programs.
House Speaker, Majority Leader Issue Statements on DOMA
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued a statement regarding the status of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in which he said he would convene a meeting of the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group for the purpose of initiating action by the House to defend the law President Obama has refused to.
South Dakota GOP Sets Stage to Pass the Buck on Taxes
Did we have a historic election in November, electing fiscally conservative leaders all across the country only to see South Dakota Republicans buckle under union pressure to raise taxes in this economy. It’s rather like defecting to Illinois to escape your sworn duties. They don’t have the courage to cut spending, nor do they have the guts to raise taxes themselves, so the GOP is setting the stage to pass it off to a vote of the people in a November 2011 special election.
The Clock is Ticking on ObamaCare
Judge Roger Vinson has put a ticking time bomb in his order that forces them to not only file an appeal to his decision within seven days, but also requires that they request expedited consideration of the law to move it to the Supreme Court in months rather than years. Obama’s plan to effectively eviscerate the current system while ObamaCare was stuck in the courts, leaving us no option but a Canada-style single-payer system, now has a much shorter shelf life.
Signer of the Declaration: John Witherspoon
What American founder trained and molded the greatest number of his fellow founders? Minister John Witherspoon, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and early leader in our government. What was his take on religion in government? “He is the best friend of American liberty who is most sincere and active in promoting true and undefiled religion, and who sets himself with the greatest firmness to bear down profanity and immorality of every kind.”
Krauthammer: Obama Upset over Jihadist ‘Bus Accident’ in Germany
Have you noticed how even though this Islamic terrorist shouted, “Allah Akbar!” as he opened fire, we have been told, “The gunman’s motive remains uncertain”? I have. As we used to say in the military, do you think someone will run up the BS flag any time soon to see who salutes? As usual, we can count on Charles Krauthammer to raise the flag.
Judge Vinson Smacks Obama Admin Over ObamaCare Foot-Dragging
U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson who struck down ObamaCare as unconstitutional a few weeks ago has smacked the Obama Administration for dragging its feet in the wake of the ruling and acting as if they could proceed with implementation of this freedom-robbing, job-killing legislation. He takes the administration to task, then provides them with 7 days to file an appeal or be done with this mess.
Pentagon’s Perverse Priorities: Homosexual Battlefield Reeducation
Insane season continues at the highest levels of our government and military. Last week, the Pentagon announced that it will forge ahead with the lunatic campaign of forcing our troops to undergo “sensitivity training” on how to coexist with in-your-face homosexuals among their ranks. It now appears that it’s not good enough to wait until our troops are back home to inflict this ridiculous “training” on them, because they’ve decided to shove it down the throats of our troops right in the middle of the battlefield. I only wish I was kidding.
Government Unions Made Easy: What You Aren’t Being Told
If you aren’t a member of a union (and given that union membership in American has fallen to the teens-percentage, you probably aren’t) and all this union business in Wisconsin, Indiana and elsewhere is a bit confusing for you, the Heritage Foundation has put together a “101″ on government unions to help. There are nearly as many government workers in unions as in the private sector, and the government workers make more than their private sector counterparts
Candor from a Homosexual Doctor on ‘the Gay Party Male’
Dr. Frank Spinelli, a homosexual doctor who has apparently seen so much illness and risky behavior in the homosexual community, apparently felt compelled to write about what he has seen in The Advocate. Spinelli has specialized in treating homosexual men, so he knows the behavior–and the results–better than most. He tells a story of risky behavior multiplied exponentially at events like Gay Pride, Folsom Street Fair, or homosexual ocean liner cruises.
A Closer Look at Union Drones
As we’ve discussed the protests in Wisconsin by unions who demand what they consider a full cut of the taxpayer’s money, I’ve often called those involved thugs and drones. I think most people are familiar enough with the well-established history of union violence to understand why I call some of them “thugs.” but why are some of them “drones”?
Collusion Between DOJ DOMA Announcement and Proposition 8 Battle?
In the Family Research Council’s Washington Update yesterday, FRC President Tony Perkins mentioned a very curious “coincidence” last week when the Obama Administration announced that it would no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Within three hours of AG Holder’s announcement, anti-Proposition 8 lawyers in California were filing a Motion to Vacate Stay which cited Holder’s letter. Coincidence?
Alderman Sam Kooiker Announces Bid for Rapid City Mayor
Rapid City Alderman Sam Kooiker announced today that he will run for mayor of Rapid City in the June 7, 2011, election. Kooiker ran against the current mayor, Alan Hanks, unsuccessfully in 2007. Right before that election, he was the target of a vicious “wingut” mailer from Hanks and Hanks supporter Stan Adelstein. Last year, he was targeted by a censure motion strongly opposed by the citizens of Rapid City that ended up causing a major shakeup on the city council. What will this year’s election bring?
US House Prepares to Defend Marriage Where President Won’t
Last week, President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder announced they would no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The question of what should be done about Obama’s dereliction of duty aside, it appears the U.S. House of Representatives is preparing to step forward and do the job President Obama refuses to do. Further, it is becoming more and more clear that there is more than enough “reasonable defense” available for DOMA.
A Raw Look at the Leftist Entitlement Mindset
This video by Christian Hartsock is a very revealing look inside the mind of the typical full-blown American Leftist. Every conservative American–but more importantly, every middle-of-the-road American–needs to see this. This is the mindset of the union drones and thugs marching and protesting and disrupting and getting fake doctor’s excuses in Wisconsin. They feel entitled–to everything their hearts desires.
On Haley Barbour and Other 2012 Presidential Possibilities
At this point, the Republican presidential field for 2012 does not look good—that is, if the establishment RINOs get to choose the candidate. I shudder to think that we could end up with Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee or Newt Gingrich. There are others out there who are hinting at a 2012 Republican presidential run. They include Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, Donald Trump and Herman Cain.
Alford v. Greene: Are We Really Mere Creatures of the State?
Not only is Alford v. Greene the first major case involving Child Protective Services to go before the United States Supreme Court in 21 years, but it is also one of the most important parents’ rights cases ever to reach the Court. If it goes the right way—i.e., to bolster parents’ rights—it will mean that state agents will have to obtain a court order in order to question a child at school. If it goes the wrong way, however, which the Obama administration is advocating for, along with 40 state attorneys general, law enforcement agencies, social workers, prosecutors and defense attorneys, it will be a serious blow to parental rights as well as the rights of children in the public schools.
