Dems Reach for Human Shields as Budget Cuts Loom

Dems Reach for Human Shields as Budget Cuts Loom

As some struggle to bring federal spending under control and restore fiscal sanity to our country, we see a Defense Department cut that even the most aggressive of hawks can support. Meanwhile on the Left, liberals shamelessly reach for human shields to defend their government-god and keep his largess from being cut. What they don’t realize is that the Left no longer has a monopoly on the media, and the American people are awake to the need for us to get our fiscal house in order.

Remembering Terri Schindler Schiavo

Remembering Terri Schindler Schiavo

This year marks 6 years since the tragic and untimely death of Terri Schindler Schiavo by dehydration and starvation at the hands of her husband. Life Legal Defense Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff want to honor Terri’s memory by once again remembering Terri on the anniversary of her death, March 31. We will never forget Terri, nor will we forget her family’s valiant efforts to save her life.

WI Dems Radical Enough to Surprise Communists

WI Dems Radical Enough to Surprise Communists

The Democrats in Wisconsin have been so radical in their efforts to maintain current levels of government largess and the power of Marxist unions, even card-carrying communists like Scott Marshall, Communist Party USA Vice Chair, are surprised. But pleasantly surprised.

Senator Johnson’s Good News

Senator Johnson's Good News

Sen Johnson says “A year later, Health Care Reform helping South Dakotans” His email to South Dakota sings the praises of Obama Care…a program that won’t fully kick in until 2014. Meanwhile, he misses the increasing costs of health care due to ObamaCare, the high unemployment, massive national debt and other problems facing our country.

Petition Received by SD Sec. of State to Refer Development Fund to Public Vote

South Dakota Secretary of State Jason Gant announced today that a group of South Dakotans have filed paperwork with his office to refer House Bill 1230, an act to establish the large project development fund, to a public vote during the November 6, 2012 general election.

Congressional Continuing Resolutions: DV on KLMP

Congressional Continuing Resolutions: DV on KLMP

Radio talk show host Shad Olson and I recently discussed on KLMP the continuing resolutions being passed by the U.S. House and how we felt about support for those bills from Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD). It seems some Tea Party patriots across the country are getting pretty impatient with the fiscal conservatives they thought they elected back in November, and are already talking about running a 2012 primary challenger against the people they just helped get elected.

Teflon Donald, Quintessential Republicrat

Teflon Donald, Quintessential Republicrat

The 20121 presidential field includes Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Herman Cain. There is another possible contender for the Republican nomination: Donald Trump. Now, before I get into this, I want to say that I like Donald Trump, even though, of course, I have never met him, have never looked him in his eyes. I like his presence, his force. I like the way he speaks with firmness. He is certainly a strong, male leader, which is what I want in the White House. But…

Human Evolution Into Liberals and Conservatives

Human Evolution Into Liberals and Conservatives

Allow me to make a few things clear before we begin. I don’t believe in evolution. Also, even in the days many years ago when I drank alcohol, I never liked beer. And although I enjoyed hunting somewhat in my youth, I’ve never been much of a hunter in my adult years. Nevertheless, this video on the evolution of humans into liberals and conservatives is hilarious!

Feeling Entitled to Entitlements

Feeling Entitled to Entitlements

Entitlement programs, also known as mandatory spending, account for two-thirds of the federal budget. This current fiscal year, mandatory spending exceeds total federal receipts. In hard numbers, mandatory spending is estimated to cost this country $2.194 trillion this year alone, according to the Office of Management and Budget, whereas total government revenues for fiscal year 2011 are projected at $2.174 trillion.

Sen. Schumer Caught Playing Word Games with Budget Deficit

Sen. Schumer Caught Playing Word Games with Budget Deficit

Some reporters recently overheard Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) talking to his fellow liberals and telling them how to hype Republican efforts to restore fiscal sanity as “extreme.” The truth is, liberals never met a budget cut they could stomach, and never met a government expenditure (outside of national defense) they didn’t like. They would rather play games than try to save a nation on the brink of financial disaster.

Ellsworth B-1s Join Operation Odyssey Dawn

B-1B Lancers from the 28th Bomb Wing launched early Sunday, March 27 from their home station of Ellsworth Air Force Base to strike targets in Libya in support of Operation Odyssey Dawn. Of note, this mission marked the first time the B-1 fleet has launched combat sorties from the continental United States to strike targets overseas.

Homosexual Activists Assault Pro-Marriage Demonstration

Homosexual Activists Assault Pro-Marriage Demonstration

Volunteers from the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) went to Brown University in Rhode Island over last weekend during their state-wide tour for traditional marriage. While there, they encountered the rabid face of homosexual activism close up. They were subjected to obscene words and gestures, violent gestures, the destruction of one of their banners, and one young person was spit on. This is par for the course from such agents of “tolerance.”

Herman Cain Wouldn’t Appoint Muslim Judges, Cabinet Members

Herman Cain Wouldn't Appoint Muslim Judges, Cabinet Members

You know what you’re getting with Herman Cain–another reason I’m liking him a lot as a 2012 presidential candidate. When asked whether he would appoint a Muslim to his cabinet or to the judiciary, he didn’t pull any punches. He made it clear that anyone working in his administration would have to fully support the American principles espoused in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, and that he believed the principles of Shariah law are at odds with those values.

Requirements for Entitlements?

Requirements for Entitlements?

It is fast becoming apparent that liberals don’t really have an agenda for saving money or for providing choices. Rather, it is their goal to force all Americans into the same social programs to fulfill their egalitarian dreams. Freedom will be out the door in favor of a forced illusion of equality.

Former Planned Parenthood Director Exposes PP

Former Planned Parenthood Director Exposes PP

Abby Johnson is the former Texas Planned Parenthood director who became a little too informed about the organization for which she worked and about the work they do. After watching an ultrasound of an abortion procedure, she called it quits and left behind the taxpayer-funded industry of death. Now she’s working to promote life, and is doing so with this video.

DISCIPLESHIP SERIES: Consumers or Creators: Being of the World or Being God’s People

DISCIPLESHIP SERIES: Consumers or Creators: Being of the World or Being God’s People

Consumers, the overwhelming majority of late, could be characterized by an inclination to formulate their sense of self from the outside in. The true self remains hidden—in many cases unknown—and serious self-examination is hindered by countless distractions and diversions. Contrary to the quiet life, consumer’s lives are intentionally filled with noise, activities, and things that aid in avoiding serious thought, introspection, or reflection. Instead, consumers survey their surroundings in constant search of things, experiences, and associations to construct their self-image.

Gravity and Absolute Truth

Gravity and Absolute Truth

Just like man’s quest to fly, we want to somehow defy absolute standards. “Hey, it might not be good for you, but it’s what I believe.” Sure, people can, will, and do, try to beat absolute truth, however, eventually the fuel runs out. Just like gravity, absolute truths provide the stability of the system that we live in. We have great freedom within the realm of absolutes, but when we ignore absolutes, we can get into a world of hurt.

What Needs To Be Said About What Needs To Be Done

What Needs To Be Said About What Needs To Be Done

Once American said things like, “Millions for defense but not one cent for tribute!” Once we said, “Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead!” And “I have not yet begun to fight!” Today the whine seems to be, “Where’s my share?” “How about me?” and “Don’t touch my entitlement. Cut someone else.” This isn’t what we inherited from our parents and it isn’t what we should leave for our children.

Where in the World Should You Invest?

Where in the World Should You Invest?

Finding countries where you can plant your investments in fertile soil may be one of the most important asset allocation decisions you make for the next several years. Last year the United States lost its place in the list of countries with the most economic freedom for the first time in the 15-year history of the index. Part of the lower scores was a result of the U.S. debt and deficit exploding. If 65% of foreign investments are in countries with a high debt and deficit, then 100% of U.S. investments have the same problem.

Dakota Voice on KLMP

Dakota Voice on KLMP

Recently I was interviewed by KLMP Public Policy Advisor Scott Craig , and the interview aired on that Rapid City Christian radio station last week. Scott and I talked about how Dakota Voice came into being about six years ago, where the name came from, what we’ve tried to do over these years, and why it exists. Also talked a little about the things I have going on “offline” with family and such.

The Left Versus Itself on Libya

The Left Versus Itself on Libya

This installment of Robot Theater examines the two-faced hypocisy of the Left on Libya versus Iraq. Watch Robot Theater do a marvelous job of explaining why a military engagement of this nature is totally unlike Iraq or Afghanistan–that it is one the Left can really sink its teeth into like jello.

Slouching Toward Mediocrity

Slouching Toward Mediocrity

As fond as the Left may be of casting America as the world’s great villain, they should be careful what they wish for. Without America’s political and moral example in the world (reinforced by our economic and military power), any hopes for the continued advancement of global political liberty and universal human rights would be greatly compromised. If we don’t get serious, and fast, it will soon be too late to stop this runaway train.

Why liberals hate Thomas, Palin

Why liberals hate Thomas, Palin

Justice Clarence Thomas and Sarah Palin are particularly threatening to liberals because their lives fly in the face of liberal mythology. According to this mythology, the essential and ongoing struggle in our nation is a power struggle of interests between “haves” and “have-nots” rather than an ongoing struggle for human freedom. They are conservative because their only interest is to keep things as they are.

A Very Effective Anti-Bullying Tactic

A Very Effective Anti-Bullying Tactic

The latest Louder with Crowder examines the video which has gone viral of a bully who makes the mistake of bullying a kid who is bigger than he is, and pushes this kid too far. The bully gets up in the face of his victim (Casey Heynes), grabs him by the collar, punches the kid in the face, tries to punch him again, punches the kid in the stomach twice…and the bullied kid finally has enough. He then gives us a demo of a very effective anti-bullying tactic.
