Everyone agrees the cradle-to-grave nanny-state programs of the Progressive corporate state don’t work. What we disagree on is the motive for their imposition and the remedy for their failure.

Alcohol-related crashes are the most preventable on South Dakota’s highways and byways. Why? They never should have happened. Still, there were 61 people killed in our state last year and nearly 700 were injured in such crashes. These numbers certainly didn’t set any records. Yet, they just shouldn’t have happened, but they did.

The Black Hills National Day of Prayer Leadership Team is hosting a Solemn Assembly on Tuesday, January 18 at 7:00 pm in Rapid City. It will be a time of community prayer and repentance, seeking our Lord and Savior in this crucial time in our nation’s history.

As usual, the Rapid City Journal gets it completely wrong. Of course, that was their intent. The newspaper claims that now that Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) has been elected, it is time for her to stop fighting for the freedoms of the people of South Dakota and just “get along” with those who would take our liberties. No, right now is precisely the time for Rep. Noem to go to war to defend our way of life.

Why is the black poverty rate little different now from where it was 40 years ago? The problem is not a dearth of organizations or social initiatives, but the mysterious allergy in black America to the words that defined what the civil rights movement was allegedly about — individual freedom.
