Apparently our government, which feels the need to scan under our clothes and grope American citizens who are not suspected of any crime, misses a lot of dangerous items that truly could be used on an airliner.

From ABC News:

Last fall, as he had done hundreds of times, Iranian-American businessman Farid Seif passed through security at a Houston airport and boarded an international flight.

He didn’t realize he had forgotten to remove the loaded snub nose “baby” Glock pistol from his computer bag. But TSA officers never noticed as his bag glided along the belt and was x-rayed. When he got to his hotel after the three-hour flight, he was shocked to discover the gun traveled unnoticed from Houston.

“It’s just impossible to miss it, you know. I mean, this is not a small gun,” Seif told ABC News. “How can you miss it? You cannot miss it.”

But the TSA did miss it, and despite what most people believe about the painstaking effort to screen airline passengers and their luggage before they enter the terminal, it was not that unusual.

TSA is apparently too busy frisking nuns and groping hot women to notice a gun being carried onto an airliner by a man from the country that is the largest sponsor of terrorism worldwide.

It really is more important that, if our own government is going to treat us like criminals, the least they could do would be to more concerned about guns than boobs.

This kind of incompetence really makes the whole x-ray vision scan and groping routine on American citizens even more egregious.

  1. Hmm, maybe all this groping & scanning is motivated by something other than actual security considerations. Maybe they’re just trying to get us accustomed to not having rights…
