The U.S. Constitution: The Source of ALL Authority

The U.S. Constitution: The Source of ALL Authority

The U.S. House of Representatives, under new Republican leadership, will not only begin the 112th Congress by reading the entire U.S. Constitution (which specifies how our government will be formed and operate, enumerates the limited powers the federal government has, and is the standard by which all potential laws are measured) on the floor, the new House rules will require that the constitutional authority for any introduced bills

Wash. Post Blogger: Constitution Not Binding, Too Confusing

Wash. Post Blogger: Constitution Not Binding, Too Confusing

On (where else?) MSNBS, Washington Post Blogger Ezra Klein whines about the plans of the upcoming 112th Congress to open the session by (gasp) reading the U.S. Constitution–you know, the highest law of our nation, the document which dicates how the American government will operate, as well as what it can and cannot do. He calls the reading of this important document “a gimmick,” says it has no binding power on anything, and says it is too confusing because it was written more than 100 years ago. And this is what passes for intelligent thought on the Left?

Census Numbers: Americans Flock to Free ‘Red’ States

Census Numbers: Americans Flock to Free 'Red' States

Is this any surprise? Census numbers show people fleeing socialist “blue” states for free “red” states. Imagine that: Americans who actually want to live free! Americans who actually want to decide for themselves how they want to live their own lives and manage their own property! Americans who actually feel entitled to keep a substantial portion of they money they earn and not see it given away to non-producing Americans!

‘Like Hell Frozen Over’

'Like Hell Frozen Over'

Piers Corbyn accurately predicted the cold and snow gripping the northeast and northern Europe while the AGW experts mocked him, insisting that the winter would be warmer than usual and dry.

The Astrophysicist/ Meteorologist correctly predicted that “December would be the coldest in a hundred years” with record snow falls. When asked how he could be so accurate he simply explained that the sun controls weather and climate and that “world temperatures drive CO2 levels, not the other way around.”

Last Congress Outspends First 100 Congresses

Last Congress Outspends First 100 Congresses

The United States has been a country for 234 years, and during that time we have had 111 congresses. The last one has a very distinguished (and shameful) accomplishment: they blew more of the American people’s money than the first 100 congresses combined.

Obama: Getting Around the Constitution One Way or Another

Obama: Getting Around the Constitution One Way or Another

Remember when we balked at the “end of life” counseling liberals were planning for ObamaCare? It was just one of the myriad of terrible ideas packed into the offensive and unconstitutional government health care bill known as ObamaCare. The secret is now out that liberals aren’t going to let petty things like separation of powers and the U.S. Constitution stand in the way of their agenda.

‘Too Big to Fail’ Proven False

'Too Big to Fail' Proven False

In the United States, we were told to ignore the U.S. Constitution, that the financial industry was “too big to fail,” that we had to stick it to the taxpayers to save businesses that got into trouble due partly to government interference and partly because of their own sloppiness. When business in Iceland had similar trouble, they didn’t fall for it, and are now in much better shape.

Why Are Democrats Smarter Than Republicans?

Why Are Democrats Smarter Than Republicans?

The Party of Lincoln once again chooses to be on the receiving end of Pickett’s Charge instead of behind the spit-rail fence chanting “Fredericksburg, Fredericksburg” as their enemy wastes itself in a senseless charge against an immovable barrier. Once again the leadership of the right has embraced the left in a bi-partisan attempt to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

State budget is the biggie, but other issues await in Pierre as well

State budget is the biggie, but other issues await in Pierre as well

With South Dakota already facing a budget deficit and revenue from video lottery down due to the smoking ban, making ends meet will be a hot topic when the legislature meets soon. But there may be other issues as well: abortion, illegal aliens, Shariah law and more.

Gloria in Excelsis Deo

Gloria in Excelsis Deo

God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled […]

One Solitary Life

One Solitary Life

Perhaps no piece of writing illustrates the poignancy of this story better than a poem attributed to Dr. James Allen Francis. In his account of the “one solitary life” that changed the world forever, Francis captures not only the awesome profundity of the Christian religion, but the inestimable value of each and every human life.

“Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Repeal a Mistake

“Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Repeal a Mistake

President Obama said that repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell “will strengthen our national security.” I cannot think of anything more dangerous to our national security and the ongoing strength of our nation than the collapse of our sense that there are objective rights and wrongs.

Anti-Christian Group Attacks Ark Encounter

Anti-Christian Group Attacks Ark Encounter

Fox News is reporting on the ongoing war on Christian freedom of religious expression perpetrated by “Reverend” Barry Lynn’s Americans United for Separation of Church and State organization. His latest target is the for-profit Ark Encounter in Kentucky which has applied for the same business development incentives any business is entitled to–any business, that is, except for a Christian one.

Time to Stop Kicking the Can

Time to Stop Kicking the Can

It is time to stop kicking the can on the $13.8 trillion national debt. Sharp spending cuts, the elimination of corporate welfare and subsidies, and a flattening of the tax code at lower rates are all needed to bring America’s fiscal house into order.

The Gift of Sympathy

The Gift of Sympathy

In the midst of the radiance of holiday, don’t forget the tears that fall during this time. Say a prayer, send a note, call just to bless someone and let them know you have remembered their loss and hurt in this time. This only adds to the beauty of the season and fulfills one of the reasons Christ came to earth.

Expect to be Hated

Expect to be Hated

It is not our goal as Christians to avoid being hated. In fact, Christ’s words in the Bible make it clear that our being hated is quite inevitable. We live in a world where people act as if any truth has to pass through their acceptability filters in order for them to acknowledge it as truth.

Iowa Moves to Remove Black Robed Tyrants

Iowa Moves to Remove Black Robed Tyrants

Iowa Republicans are working up legislation to impeach four remaining black-robed tyrants (three were voted out in the recent election) who decided they would take it upon themselves in 2009 to make law from the bench and declare a “right” for homosexuals to call their couplings “marriage.” There can be no higher crime for a public official than to show contempt for the constitution and for the people they are supposed to serve.

CDC Report Indicates Food Safety Act Was Based on Obsolete Data

CDC Report Indicates Food Safety Act Was Based on Obsolete Data

Several attempts have been made recently to pass a “Food Safety Act” that would increase the power of the FDA…and food costs. But a new report out from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) indicates the data underlying that bill was out of date, and there is even less food contamination going on now than was previously thought.

Texas Court of Appeals Rebukes Lawless Willingham Judge

Texas Court of Appeals Rebukes Lawless Willingham Judge

Judge Charlie Baird Ordered to Comply With State Recusal Law In Austin, Texas, Judge Charlie Baird had been conducting a “court of inquiry” looking into the controversial case of Cameron Todd Willingham, executed in 2004 for the arson murder of his three young daughters.  The Innocence Project, which claims the fire was accidental, steered this […]

Red Light Cameras: Safety Devices or One More Step Toward a Surveillance State?

Red Light Cameras: Safety Devices or One More Step Toward a Surveillance State?

Red light cameras are not safety devices—they’re revenue-raising devices for corporations, states and municipalities, which is bad enough when it comes at taxpayer expense. But when coupled with the entire arsenal of technological tools being aimed at the American people, from license-plate readers, mobile scanners and iris scanners to full-body scanners in airports, biometric ID cards, etc., they become yet another layer in our surveillance society.

U.S. Military in Danger of Leftist Takeover

U.S. Military in Danger of Leftist Takeover

The moral foundation of our nation is rotten; the supports are crumbling away under decades of leftist termite infestation, and without a return to godly, moral principles in the hearts of Americans and those running our institutions, our whole country, including our military, will continue its relentless slide into the bottomless pit where darkness abounds and freedom does not exist.

The Poorhouses of ‘A Christmas Carol’

The Poorhouses of 'A Christmas Carol'

There are few better stories for talking about economics than Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol.” A changed heart freed from past sins is a powerful force of authentic spirituality in life. If you believe all of your time, talent and wealth belong to God, you won’t make any distinction between the charitable work you do for God and the rest of your life. And you won’t have any fear about doing what a benevolent God sets in your path to do.

Here Comes the Judge

Here Comes the Judge

After years of activist judges stretching our tortured Constitution from limiting the government to limiting the citizen it’s refreshing to see an American jurist proclaiming that the corruption of our fundamental charter is leading us towards the creation of an unlimited central government usurping the powers expressly reserved to the States and the people.
