Thomas Sowell has some great insight today in his National Review column about the myth of separation of church and state (as liberals define it), explaining exactly what the founders meant when they wrote about “an establishment of religion” in the U.S. Constitution. It has nothing to do with the campaign of sanitation of Christianity from the public square being carried out by the Left.
Eighteen Republican legislators today announced their support for Jason Gant’s proposal to enhance penalties for vote bribery. Earlier this week, State Senator Jason Gant, the Republican candidate for Secretary of State, proposed increased penalties in response to ‘food-for-votes’ rallies being promoted by Stephanie Herseth Sandlin and the Democratic Party.
As we get ready for perhaps the most important mid-term election in our lifetime, let us just remember what is at stake and to revisit, “An Open Letter to the Evil Tyrants in Washington.” The victory enjoyed by the socialists since 2008 has been temporal and short-lived. Remember, the Japanese thought they had scored a great victory at Pearl Harbor. On November 2, 2010, the socialists in Washington D.C. will meet the no-longer-sleeping giant.
