Yet while liberals do all they can to recycle such charges, it just isn’t selling well with an awake-like-never-before public.
From Fox News:
The Tea Party has emerged as a potent force in American politics and a center of gravity within the Republican Party, with a large majority of Republicans showing an affinity for the movement that has repeatedly bucked the GOP leadership this year, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has found.
In the survey, 71% of Republicans described themselves as Tea Party supporters, saying they had a favorable image of the movement or hoped tea-party candidates would do well in the Nov. 2 elections.
Even after a year and a half of a no-holds-barred media smear-job of the Tea Party movement, 30% of Americans say they support the movement. Can you imagine how many more would be included in that number in an objective environment, one in which people could look clearly at the movement to see that it supports the foundational principles upon which our country was founded? Can you imagine how many people already realize this, but are reluctant to tell a pollster from the intelligentsia that for fear they’ll be belittled and demonized like they see done to Tea Partiers on TV and in the newspapers?
If the GOP establishment has a lick of sense, they’ll finally drop like a hot potato these RINOs they’ve courted for so long and embrace the Tea Party–a group of people who, unlike RINOs, believe passionately in the core values of the Republican Party.
The demonization and propaganda of the Left aside, it’s easy to see that the Tea Party movement isn’t anything unusual or radical or extreme. The primary focus of the Tea Party movement is limited government and fiscal responsibility. These are core principles upon which our great nation was founded; the founders knew that limited government was essential to the freedom they had worked so hard to secure.
Meanwhile, socialists on the Left believe in and promote things that are contradictory to the U.S. Constitution and every principle of Americanism: a large, powerful state; unlimited government power; government control over the individual; government provision of anything possible–and the power to tax and spend to make it happen.
So which group is really extreme in America: the group that promotes our nation’s highest law (the Constitution) and principles which go back more than 200 years…or the group that promotes everything that is in opposition to these principles, and has been demonstrated repeatedly across the world for the last century to be an abysmal failure that has resulted in 100 million or more dead in its wake?
