This video clip is from a 2004 lecture by Feisal Abdul Rauf on his book “What is Right With Islam.” You probably didn’t know that American principles and Islamic principles had so much in common, e.g. the deep commitment to human rights, freedom of religion, respect for life, and so on. Looking back over the 1,400 bloody years of Islam, I never would have guessed that either.
It is easier for demagogues like Olbermann to condemn the opponents of 45 Park Place as First Amendment-hating xenophobes than to recognize the legitimate “right v. rectitude” question at the heart of the controversy. The truth is, however, the American people have had it up to their eyeballs with the moral incoherence of the Left.
It’s little wonder that the public is so confused about the religious affiliation and values of our president.
