For decades the federal government has refused to do its job of keeping our national borders secure and enforcing immigration law. The situation has become so pathetic that when Arizona recently crafted a law to empower state law enforcement officials to turn over illegal aliens to federal authorities, the Obama Administration sued Arizona to preserve it’s “right” to ignore the law. Even far north in places like South Dakota, illegal immigration is a problem. That is why South Dakota legislators are looking at making such a law in South Dakota.

Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee (D-TX) is clueless on so many fronts, it’s hard to take it all in. She not only thinks the Tea Party movement is a sister organization to the KKK but also thinks Neil Armstrong landed on Mars in 1969, and now says that North and South Vietnam, though we don’t always agree with the North, are working in peace side by side.

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) says Maureen Rigo, a Christian private school teacher, went to the U.S. Supreme Court with her students. Outside the building, she and her students went over to one side out of the way and prayed. They soon found that, in front of the building where judges are charged with upholding the U.S. Constitution (including the First Amendment right to free speech and freedom of religious expression), prayer is not allowed.

The latest manifestation of the dubious “reform” phenomenon is the financial “reform” bill expected to be voted on today. Ostensibly designed to provide better market oversight and protect consumers, it has quickly become evident that it is just another chuck wagon of liberal goodies, give-aways and cronyism that will make an ailing thing even worse.

Media outlets are reporting on a new government report from the National Drug Control Policy which found prescription drug abuse has risen 400% in the last 10 years, contributing to more hospital visits and more drug overdose fatalities–including children. Do we really need to make it easier to add to prescription drug abuse in South Dakota by legalizing a substance of dubious value?

We had hoped for a little change with the new British government being elected, the so-called Conservative Party now in power under Prime Minister David Cameron. But we didn’t have to hope very long before our hopes for Dr. Michael Savage were dashed, as the Conservative Party quickly showed itself to be the same speech police gang as the one before it. World Net Daily reports that Dr. Savage received a letter on Monday in which the U.K. Border Agency, through the treasury solicitor’s office, informed him that he would remain on the banned list.

Marxism is so wonderful, isn’t it? It’s no wonder our Marxist president, Barack Obama, wants to impose it here in the land of the free and the home of the brave. It’s working so well in North Korea, doctors have found a way to perform major surgery without anesthesia, and are able to reuse needles for injections without even sterilizing them. Senator John Thune (R-SD) announced today that he opposes the nomination of Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court: “After meeting with Solicitor General Kagan and after careful deliberation, I cannot support her confirmation to the Supreme Court. While Ms. Kagan’s background in academia is impressive, I have deep reservations about her ability to serve on the nation’s highest court with impartiality.”

When the constituents of Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) asked him about the dropped Black Panther voter intimidation case recently, he admitted he didn’t know what they were talking about. Sherman’s lowly serfs let him know in no uncertain terms his lordship’s behavior was unacceptable.

I love it when Leftwing bigots like the NAALCP (National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People, also known as the NAACP) get smacked for their lunacy. Conservatives have silently put up with liberal nonsense for far too long. The St. Louis Tea Party has preemptively condemned the NAACP for considering a resolution against the Tea Party movement for nonexistent racism.

A new Gallup poll finds a lot of confusion surrounding the “Progressive” label. That probably shouldn’t be too surprising, since the “progressive” label is used to mislead the American public about the political intentions of those who call themselves “progressives.” Even the very term “progressive” is misleading in that it is used to describe political advocacy that will produce anything but progress.

I know you’ll be shocked, but new evidence seems to indicate the order to dismiss the already-won case against the Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Pennsylvania in 2008 may have come from the White House itself. A political appointee at the DOJ had a series of meetings at the White House on key dates as the case moved forward…and was suddenly dismissed.
