“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!” – Samuel Adams

Howie Tax Issue About to Fade

Howie Tax Issue About to Fade

South Dakota gubernatorial candidate Gordon Howie’s delinquent property taxes on some of his business properties has received the expected plethora of exposure in the newspapers and blogosphere. Now that he has a property sale pending and is about to be caught up, will the media and the liberal blogosphere pays as much attention to this development as they did his tax liability? Time will tell…

Communist China: An Increasingly Imperialistic Threat

Communist China: An Increasingly Imperialistic Threat

So often these days, I have to wonder if the people running the United States have a collective death wish. While we curtail our own military and send billions of dollars every year in trade to communist China, they are using our dollars to build weapons systems to destroy our aircraft carriers, challenge our most advanced fighters, and expand their military power like never before.

Video of Weaponry Used by Freedom Flotilla Peace Activists

This video shows some of the weapons that were used against Israeli soldiers who boarded the ship Mavi Marmara which attempted to thwart the naval blockade around Gaza. For a ship full of “peace activists,” these people certainly had plenty of weapons available…and a strong disposition to use them.

Criminal Probes in All the Wrong Places

Criminal Probes in All the Wrong Places

Isn’t it just swell that the Obama Administration has sent Attorney General Eric Holder down to the Gulf Coast to declare that they will be conducting civil and criminal probes into the BP oil spill? What about launching a criminal probe into the Obama Administration’s attempting to bribe a Pennsylvania congressman?

Netanyahu: We Will Never Apologize for defending ourselves

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement today after the obligatory UN condemnation for defending themselves from terrorism. He outlined the necessity of the sea blockade of Gaza, and made it clear that Israel will never apologize for defending themselves.

Liberals Mounting Fresh Assault on Free Speech

Liberals Mounting Fresh Assault on Free Speech

Liberals have long wanted to muzzle conservatives through the re-implementation of the un-American Fairness Doctrine, but they have been working to silence their critics from fresh trails lately. They’re pushing to have the FCC monitor and regulate talk radio, cable news (code for “Fox News”) and bloggers for what they consider “hate speech”–only their idea of “hate speech” is radically different than most Americans.

Howie Announces Gubernatorial Running Mate

Howie Announces Gubernatorial Running Mate

South Dakota gubernatorial candidate Gordon Howie announced today that he has asked former Sioux Falls mayoral candidate and alderman Kermit Staggers to be his running mate in his bid for governor of South Dakota on the Republican ticket. The choice continues to be very clear: South Dakota can vote for the stand-out common sense traditional values that made us great, or more of the same old smack that got us into this mess.

The Census Sting: Tax Dollars at Play

The Census Sting: Tax Dollars at Play

James O’Keefe, a young investigative reporter who has nailed ACORN and was himself stung while trying to sting Senator Mary Landrieu’s (D-LA) staff, has once again infiltrated the dirty world of wasted taxpayer dollars at the hands of the federal government. Hired as a census worker, O’Keefe found that pay practices were pretty lax, and supervisors encouraged payroll fraud.

Montana Medical Marijuana Not Working Out Too Well

Montana Medical Marijuana Not Working Out Too Well

Montana is the latest state to find out that all is not bliss after legalizing “medical” marijuana.” They are becoming acquainted with violence, assaults, break-ins, robberies, and firebombings. Montanans are also finding out how easy it is to get “certified” to smoke “medical” marijuana, especially from drive-by-night doctors who write a few prescriptions and move on to another city to write more.

Paying the Price for Freedom

Well, I had intended to write a piece about Memorial Day and present it to you, but before I began to write, I read an excellent article that I decided to share with you instead. It was written by Scott Factor on his conservative blog site ScottFactor.com, and examines the high cost of freedom.

Pelosi: Putting Jesus in Public Policy

Pelosi: Putting Jesus in Public Policy

When liberals say off-the-wall things like this, I always have to ask myself: are they really this deluded, or do they think we are? I did it when I heard Speaker Nancy Pelosi said public policy should reflect the values of Jesus. Since when did Jesus promote abortion and homosexuality?

SDGOP: They 'Arndt' Going to Fool Anyone

Munsterman to Forego Naming Lt Gov Running Mate

With candidates on both sides of the political aisle naming their prospective Lt. The Sky is Falling…Or the Tax Man Cometh

The Sky is Falling...Or the Tax Man Cometh

The late Francis Schaeffer said, “tell me what the world is saying today and I will tell you what the church will be saying in seven years.” Some key evangelical leaders, to the detriment of the poor, have been clamoring along with the crowd about global warming disasters. And they continue.

Obama’s War(s)

Obama’s War(s)

Today we face endless wars for elusive peace when we can’t secure our own borders. We’re committed to war in Iraq and Afghanistan; we’ve been rattling sabers in Iran’s direction for years and there’s one more war just for good measure.

Veterans and their families have been there

Veterans and their families have been there

Memorial Day 2010 was observed Monday in most of the communities in South Dakota. It was a patriotic holiday, but it was so much more than that. It was a day to remember and honor those American service men and women who paid the highest price for their country. Sadly, far too many Americans have no memory of what those in our nation’s military service did.
