Graham: Christian and Jewish Faiths Built America, Not Islam
Ahead of the National Day of Prayer, Franklin Graham expressed dismay at how Islam is receiving preferential treatment by the Obama administration. “[Islam] is not the faith of this country. And that is not the religion that built this nation. The people of the Christian faith and the Jewish faith are the ones who built America, and it is not Islam.”
Court Ruling Doesn’t Stop National Day of Prayer
Millions of Americans will be uniting in prayer today in observance of the 59th Annual National Day of Prayer. Since 1952, when both houses of Congress passed legislation establishing an official Day of Prayer, Americans from various religious groups have used the observance to pray for their nation despite claims by a minority that such a day is an unconstitutional “establishment of religion.”
President Obama’s Radical Past
If you were awake during the 2008 presidential election, or have even had brief periods of consciousness since then, you probably have a pretty good idea of the radicals, dirtbags, terrorists and others with whom Barack Obama has associated for most of his life. But in case you missed some or all the first time around, or simply forgot some of the many shady characters in Obama’s life, Aaron Klein has a new book out called “The Manchurian President,” titled after the movie(s) “The Manchurian Candidate” about a man kidnapped by the enemy and brainwashed to act as a sleeper agent against America.
Obama Buddy Bashes Business With the Best of Them
Have you ever heard of Joel Rogers? Odds are you haven’t…and I’m sure President Barack Obama would just as soon you knew as little about him as possible. Rogers is an ally and associate of Obama’s. Rogers helped found the New Party, a Marxist coalition working to elect Leftists of all stripes and flavors, including Democrats.
School Prayer Constraints Prompts First Amendment Lawsuit
A Florida school district is being sued for “persistent and widespread” restrictions on religious expression. Liberty Counsel, a legal group often representing Christians in religious freedom and family cases, filed a lawsuit Tuesday on behalf of two dozen individuals against the Santa Rosa County School District and its Superintendent, Timothy Wyrosdick, for violations of First Amendment rights.
DC Homosexual ‘Marriage” Law Challenged in Court
Opponents of Washington, D.C.’s new same-sex marriage law took the battle to the court of appeals Tuesday, demanding that the issue be decided by the people, not by legislators. Led by Maryland megachurch pastor Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. – who filed the lawsuit against the city on behalf of Stand 4 Marriage D.C. – traditional marriage proponents are asking that residents be given their right to vote on the same-sex marriage law.
Preacher’s Arrest Renews Religious Freedom Concerns
The arrest of a street preacher has renewed concern over religious freedom for Christians in the United Kingdom. Dale McAlpine, 42, was arrested in his home town of Workington, in Cumbria, last month after he mentioned homosexuality as one of a number of sins listed in the Bible, alongside idolatry, blasphemy, fornication, and drunkenness.
Defense Secretary Recommends Delay Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Repeal
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates advised members of Congress to wait until the Pentagon completes its review of the effects of repealing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy before changing the rule. In a letter to House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) on Friday, Gates said he “strongly opposed any legislation that seeks to change this policy prior to the completion of this vital assessment process.”
Christian Preacher Arrested for Saying Homosexual Behavior is a Sin
A Christian preacher in the UK was arrested recently for stating that homosexual behavior is a sin. This preacher must have failed to receive the memo that immoral behaviors are protected behaviors, and that he is not entitled to criticize them in any way. And while things aren’t that bad in the U.S. yet, many in our government want it that way.
The Consequences of Religious Apathy
America’s political tradition rests squarely upon this conception of human nature: We are fallen, yet still bear the mark of our divine inheritance. A government seeking absolute authority over its citizens is not well served by competition with God. When we refuse to embrace both the blessings and the responsibilities of our divine inheritance, the power-hungry politicians and entrenched bureaucrats are more than happy to step in and do it for us – for a price.
President Obama Issues National Day of Prayer Proclamation
President Obama has issued a proclamation declaring this Thursday as National Day of Prayer. In his proclamation, he states that prayer has long been an important part of U.S. history. The nation upholds as fundamental principles the exercise of religion and freedom of conscience, he said. Thus Americans have long considered it “fitting and proper” to publicly observe the importance of prayer on May 6.
Criticism for Obama from CNN Over Arizona Immigration Law
You know it’s bad when criticism of a liberal comes from CNN. From Jack Cafferty: “What’s misguided, Mr. Obama, is the federal government’s ongoing refusal to enforce the laws that are already on the books…parts of it are word for word the same as the federal statutes, which continue to be all but ignored.”
A Missionary to America
With America increasingly losing touch with its Christian heritage and becoming more secularized, I am, for all intents and purposes, a missionary to America. However, unlike the conventional foreign missionary whose work is largely evangelical mine is prophetic in the contemporary sense. In this role, I bear the unenviable task of critic, pointing out where the tension between Christ and culture has given way to capitulation and compromise. At times, this is an unpleasant task.

Was the Gulf Oil Rig Explosion a Deliberate Attack on America?
I would like to know who or what caused the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig platform in the Gulf of Mexico last week. There are a number of unanswered questions right now regarding why it blew up, why so many safety protocols failed, and why the oil spill was so extensive. Meanwhile, the oil spill is nearing the U.S. southern coastline.
