A bill that declares “exempt from federal regulation any firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured and retained in South Dakota” passed in the South Dakota House of Representatives today. SB 89 was approved by a 49-19 vote. The bill had already passed the state Senate on Feb. 18 with a 29-4 vote.

A discussion took place on South Dakota Public Radio today between South Dakota state Rep. Don Kopp (R-Rapid City) and Dr. Pat Zimmerman from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology regarding Kopp’s bill requiring balanced instruction when anthropogenic global warming theory is taught in public schools.

Recalcitrant labor unions figure prominently into the equation of the U.S. Postal Service’s problems as unreasonable demands intersect with economic realities. The agency’s business model is so irredeemably bad to the point where it cannot be salvaged.

A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed all claims against Shirley Dobson, the wife of Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, in a lawsuit challenging the National Day of Prayer. Shirley Dobson is chair of the National Day of Prayer Task Force and was among the names listed by the Freedom From Religion Foundation in a lawsuit filed in October 2008.

In an interview with the Tea Party Express’s Mark Williams, MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan yelled, screamed, walked off his own set, and alleged that tea partiers carry signs calling for the death of blacks and Jews. And as the veins were bursting in his head he then demanded that Mark Williams’ microphone be cut off so he could be heard.

Andy Stern, an Obama appointee to the Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, is an unabashed socialist and promoter of global government over U.S. sovereignty. As you’ll hear in this video below, Stern believes there has simply been too much freedom going on our there. Government needs to meddle more in the affairs of private companies–spoken like a true bureaucrat. He (like his boss) is also an open supporter of Marxist wealth redistribution.

This is a good ad by Sue Lowden, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) Republican opponent in the election this year. As a mother, she takes him to task for his “one size fits all” approach to government health care, which experience has taught her doesn’t work with children, much less health care. She takes a strong stance against socialized medicine, giving voters a clear choice.

Most Americans claim belief in God but many are living as “Christian atheists,” according to some pastors. “We believe in Jesus enough to get us out of hell but not actually enough to change the way we live.”

Gay and lesbian couples will be able to apply for a marriage license in the nation’s capital beginning Wednesday. But traditional marriage supporters are making a last minute effort to stop the new law, which was passed in December, from taking effect.

They are a group of active military, veterans, law enforcement and firefighters who fulfill the oath they swore to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I’ve often remarked that while some of the more extreme environmental wackos (like President Obama’s “science” advisor John Holdren) actually view humanity as an evil parasite that must be eradicated to save Mother Earth, few if any of them are lining up to lead by example. Unfortunately a murder-suicide pact in Argentina shows that a few really are willing to take their ideas to the mat…and to the grave.

My family and I recently saw The Blind Side, the surprise blockbuster movie that tells the remarkable story of Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher. Michael’s story is a true-life tale of nearly hopeless beginnings, the generous love of neighbor, and redemption; it is a powerful representation of the gospel of the kingdom.

A well-known Apple shareholder recently mocked Al Gore and his silly global warming claims at a shareholders meeting. Embracing Gore and his propaganda will result in a rotten apple.

You might as well give up and die: everything you do causes global warming (at least in the eyes of socialist propaganda artists). The reverse is also true: global warming causes everything.

With all the news in the past year showing the issue of global warming (or “climate change” if you insist) to be a fraud you’d have thought James Hansen and Al Gore could have come up with a better defense of their positions, but you’ll not find much new in either of their retorts. It’s the same old smoke and mirrors and out-right deception we have come to expect from these gurus of self-promotion. It would seem they’ve given us their best shot and it is found wanting.

After revelation upon revelation of deliberate fraud in the global warming–excuse me–climate change sciences, this weekend the New York Times boldly published an op-ed by none other than the big daddy of the gigantic hoax of global warming, Al Gore, titled, “We Can’t Wish Away Climate Change.” It was an extremely difficult piece to read without shouting at my computer monitor.
