Glenn Beck’s “Indoctrination in America” special last Friday is a sobering look into the modern excuse for “public education.” It reveals the host of radical socialist organizations that are meddling in American public education, and what they are teaching our children: to believe in global warming dogma, push radical environmentalism, parrot Marxist propaganda, and not listen to their feeble-minded parents.

Common threads of the tea party platform among all the groups are the concepts of fiscal responsibility, limited government, lower taxation, and national sovereignty, and these are quite important. But, when it comes to “social issues” like abortion and homosexual “rights,” some tea party leaders tend to shy away.

When the church, according to Jesus, is living in visible relationship with each other, it is then that the world will know that God the Father has sent the Son. Is this not the desire of every faithful, gospel-centered Christian? Jesus is clearly saying that our visible unity—our relationship to one another—is essential to showing the world that there is a God and He has sent His Son.

Earlier this morning I discussed SB 134 in the South Dakota legislature to divest South Dakota’s state-controlled pension and trust funds of interests in Iran. Iran is a threat to the United States, our allies in the Middle East and Europe, and to our troops serving in the Middle East. This video shows why this bill is important.

On principle alone, free peoples should not be investing in the belligerent state of Iran. That is why SB 134 was introduced in the South Dakota Legislature this year. Now former CIA director James Woolsey has come out in support of this effort.

The per-pupil spending in the average public school is staggering enough (especially when you consider how little homeschool parents spend per-pupil and manage to out-perform their public school peers). Especially interesting in these challenging economic times, a new report finds federal workers are receiving higher salaries than their private sector counterparts, and are really costing employers (i.e. the taxpayers) a lot more in benefit costs–more than four times the cost.

The reasons homosexuality is incompatible with military service are manifold. The American Community Survey, a part of the census process, is a 28-page intrusive questionnaire that demands to know about a person’s job, income, physical and emotional health, family status, place of residence and intimate personal and private habits. Americans who value their freedom and oppose intrusive government are already beginning to take a stand against this offensive probe in this census year.

The apostles of the religion of anthropogenic global warming are getting pretty spooked. The Washington Times reports on some private emails they’ve obtained access to, the climate “scientists” (and I use the term very loosely) at the National Academy of Sciences are plotting to try and create a smokescreen to cover their multiple, crippling embarrassments over the past several months.

The Rapid City Journal is reporting that Malcom Chapman won’t be running for re-election on the Rapid City Council. Expect big, big changes on the Rapid City Council starting this year and in the next election. People have had it up to their eyeballs with arrogant waste of taxpayer dollars and elitism. And while the Tea Party movement has definitely been big on the national scene over the last year, Tea Parties are very active in local issues, as well.

It turns out that, when someone is spending his own money alone for routine expenses, he is far more likely to ask the questions he would ask if purchasing any other good or service: “Is there a generic version of that drug?” “Didn’t I take that same test just recently?” “Where can I get the colonoscopy at the best price?” By contrast, the prevalent model of health plans in this country in effect signals individuals they can buy health care on someone else’s credit card.

The axiom “follow the money” is often cited as a method of finding out who and what is behind a particular movement. The environmental extremist movement loves to employ this statement, along with a helping of class envy, to demonize the free market that has produced our comfortable society, but what do we see when it is turned around on them? We find the very greed and avarice they so love to wail about.

From Science Daily comes news about evidence of hydrothermal vents near Antarctica. Could these volcanic vents have any bearing on melting of ice and warming of oceans? Highly doubtful; SUVs and modern industry are the most likely culprit.
