Survey: One-Third of Doctors May Leave Practice if Health Care Bill Passes
A survey conducted by the physician research group Medicus Firm has found that if Democrats pass the government health care bill, nearly 1/3 of all practicing physicians say they may quit practicing medicine. If a public option were included, the number jumps to 45.7%. Democrats are obviously trying to push us out of the frying pan and into the fire with this socialized medicine plan.
Court Clears Tea Party to Initiate Recall Effort of Sen. Robert Menendez
Tea Party groups in New Jersey have been trying to recall Rep. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) for his support of unconstitutional efforts to implement government health care, but they have been blocked by state officials who have ruled that the state constitution–which allows for recalls of officials–is unconstitutional. (Yes, you heard right.) But now an appeals court has ruled in favor of the citizens of New Jersey that the state must accept a recall petition.
Dems: Health Care an ‘Opportunity’ To Federally Fund Abortion
Democrat Rep. Bart Stupak admits what other Democrats lie about: There’s no doubt that the Democrat Party is the sort of pro-choice party…So here’s [within the government health care bill] their opportunity, they’re taking their opportunity to push that idea, that there should be federal funding, or tax credits, or subsidies for abortion.”
Virginia Poised to Reject Government Health Care
While more than 30 states are considering passing legislation to block government health care from being forced on their states, Virginia has become the first state to get such a bill to the governor’s office. On an 80-17 vote, the Virginia legislature has sent their bill to the governor, who is expected to sign it into law.
Lemmon South Dakota Planning Their First Tea Party
Lemmon, South Dakota has scheduled their first Tea Party event. The event will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 1, featuring a special speaker on the Constitution who will hold a Q & A session, and all South Dakota gubernatorial candidates have been invited; two have accepted the invitation so far. Tell your friends that the Tea Party movement is coming to Lemmon, South Dakota!
The ‘Coffee Party’ is Just the Same Old Swill
The new “Coffee Party” movement–if you can call the tiny, sputtering gatherings by these liberals a “movement”–wants people to believe it is a “civil” alternative to the Tea Party movement, and that they want limited government, too. But when you take the lid off the cup, you find that they don’t want less government, they just want less input from the people into our government.
Return of the Swamp Thing
Where will this cavalcade of corruption lead? Detroit is a picture of America’s future. After decades of control by Progressive Democrats what was once one of the greatest manufacturing cities in the world has degenerated to the point where banks are paying people to take abandoned houses and the best idea they have is to downsize the city by converting empty lots into farmland.
Socialist Security Starts Cashing in the IOUs
Social Security, the cornerstone of socialism in America, has been patched up and shored up for years…and now we’re finally about to begin cashing in the IOUs from all the money the liberals have raided from Social Security over the years…only there’s no money there to cash in those IOUs. Welcome to socialism!
Work: A Fundamental Purpose and Partnership with God
Contrary to twentieth-century economist Milton Friedman, who said the purpose of business is to “maximize financial profits for shareholders,” the Christian business should work in partnership with God to sustain creation, promote the kingdom and its virtues, and repair what sin has broken. Business is one of those loving structures provided by God in which we can join together, working with God, to accomplish these ends.
Chief Justice not welcome at Butler: Faculty Senate says ‘NO’ UPDATE 3/15
Butler University had the opportunity to welcome one of the most important figures of our times for what was certain to be a non-partisan commencement speech: Chief Justice John Roberts. However, the Faculty Senate, via secret ballot, shot down this opportunity. These self-appointed guardians of diversity and tolerance are terrified of a genuine open and free exchange of ideas.
I’m in Gitmo, Live on Guantanamo Idol
This video from PolitiZoid is a fantastic glimpse into what terrorists do to pass the time at Club Gitmo. Now we knew Gitmo wasn’t the hellhole the terrorists and their lawyers would have us believe (their quarters and meals at Gitmo are far better than most of them were getting back in their home countries), but who could have guessed they’d be having this much fun?

New Social Studies Curriculum Approved by Texas Ed Board
The Texas State Board of Education voted on Friday to approve new standards for social studies classes. The 11-4 vote was a preliminary approval for a curriculum that will serve as the framework in Texas classrooms for the next 10 years. Texas has the second largest school system in the nation, behind California, and is the second-largest textbook market in the country. The Lone Star state can thus have influence over the reading material used in classrooms nationwide.
ADF Defends Against Home Church Ban
A Christian legal group filed an appeal this week to fight a ban against a church meeting in homes. With only seven members, Oasis of Truth Church was ordered to stop holding all activities, including Bible studies, leadership meetings and fellowship activities, in Pastor Joe Sutherland’s home in Gilbert, Ariz. Alliance Defense Fund attorneys contend in the appeal that was filed Wednesday that banning religious meetings of any size or frequency in a home is unprecedented and unconstitutional.
Obamafeld
This hilarious video merges current events in Washington D.C. with the Jerry Seinfeld universe to produce “Obamafeld.” My favorite scenes are where President Barack Obama “talks to” Republicans, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi “invites” the news cameras into the political discussions. Of course, the Joe Biden cameos are priceless, too.
School Censorship Case May go to Supreme Court
A legal group on Thursday filed a petition requesting the U.S. Supreme Court to review the case of a kindergarten student’s poster that was censored by a school because it contained the image of Jesus. When Antonio was in kindergarten, he drew a poster with several religious figures with the words, “The only way to save the world” for an art project about the environment.
Boomsday: Coming to a Theater Near You
Without a robust family-centered culture to care for America’s elderly, the State will continue to expand its role in this arena. The only remaining hope is that we as a society can learn from our mistakes, move away from our radical individualistic, self-centered mindset, and rediscover the great blessings – and great responsibilities – of true family.
On ‘Obamacare,’ just say no
When Barack Obama was sworn in as president, he chose the bible that Abraham Lincoln used on which to take the oath of office. A little over a year later, as President Obama strong arms House and Senate Democrats to pass a health care bill that will nationalize 17 percent of our economic lives — a bill that many Americans don’t want — we ought to recall Lincoln’s famous words at Gettysburg.
Girl Scouts Exposing Children to Danger
The Girl Scouts seems ready to abandon their longstanding reputation as a wholesome organization for girls. The Girl Scouts recently partnered with Planend Parenthood and the United Nations to promote a sexually explicit brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” For parents with girls in this organization, it seems to be time to rethink their involvement.
Pledge of Allegiance, National Motto Upheld
A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld the constitutionality of references to God in the Pledge of Allegiance and on national currency. The pledge does not constitute an establishment of religion, Judge Carlos Bea wrote for the majority in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. “[T]he Pledge is an endorsement of our form of government, not of religion or any particular sect.”
