For some time now it has been public knowledge (but not common knowledge, since the “mainstream” media is oddly silence on the staggering disease rates in the homosexual community) that Centers for Disease Control (CDC) figures show that 72% of male AIDS cases are associated with homosexual activity…while a survey commissioned by the pro-homosexual group Human Rights Campaign found that only 2.9% of the population is homosexual. The fact that homosexuals also have much higher infection rates from most other types of STDs, as well as hepatitis, anal cancer, depression, substance abuse, suicide and more.
But yesterday I learned from Americans for Truth of a new report out from the CDC which finds new HIV cases among homosexuals is more than 44 X that of heterosexual men and more than 40 times that of women.
From the March 10, 2010 CDC press release:
A data analysis released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention underscores the disproportionate impact of HIV and syphilis among gay and bisexual men in the United States.
The data, presented at CDC’s 2010 National STD Prevention Conference, finds that the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women.
The range was 522-989 cases of new HIV diagnoses per 100,000 MSM vs. 12 per 100,000 other men and 13 per 100,000 women.
The rate of primary and secondary syphilis among MSM is more than 46 times that of other men and more than 71 times that of women, the analysis says. The range was 91-173 cases per 100,000 MSM vs. 2 per 100,000 other men and 1 per 100,000 women.
While CDC data have shown for several years that gay and bisexual men make up the majority of new HIV and new syphilis infections, CDC has estimated the rates of these diseases for the first time based on new estimates of the size of the U.S. population of MSM. Because disease rates account for differences in the size of populations being compared, rates provide a reliable method for assessing health disparities between populations.
“While the heavy toll of HIV and syphilis among gay and bisexual men has been long recognized, this analysis shows just how stark the health disparities are between this and other populations,” said Kevin Fenton, M.D., director of CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention. “It is clear that we will not be able to stop the U.S. HIV epidemic until every affected community, along with health officials nationwide, prioritize the needs of gay and bisexual men with HIV prevention efforts.”
The statement from the CDC has the audacity to claim, “Preventing HIV and STDs among gay and bisexual men is a top CDC priority.” If preventing any other contagious disease was “a top CDC priority,” we would see nonstop PSA commercials on TV, radio and in newspapers warning people not to eat at certain restaurants, consume certain foods, or do whatever it is that is most closely connected with the transmission of that disease.
But since homosexual activists have cowed weak-minded and morally unanchored leaders into making homosexual behavior a politically correct behavior, with an AIDS/HIV epidemic where the infection rate is 44 X higher from one activity over another, we hear…silence. We hear the crickets chirp…even as more people become infected with this deadly disease. These people are too afraid of peer pressure, too afraid to be seen not traveling with the herd, to send the message that this dangerous behavior should be avoided at all costs–if not for moral considerations, certainly for health reasons.
Those who have engaged in homosexual behavior and contracted AIDS have done this to themselves, and they bear the bulk of responsibility for their illness. But those among us who are in positions of leadership and influence also bear a level of responsibility for their failure to warn about this danger.
The blood of many people is on the politically correct hands of the “mainstream” media, liberal leadership in our cities, liberal leadership in our state governments, liberal leadership in our federal government…and from liberal churches and church leadership that are more interested in being trendy than in saving people. Their hands are crimson from their deadly silence.
