Rep. Bachmann: Rescind Bonuses for Freddie, Fannie Execs

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN)

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and whoever agrees with her definitely have their priorities straight. Instead of trying to play the socialist government thug by regulating and restricting the pay of executives of private companies, the government should instead chop the bonuses of the government financial institutions that were at the heart of the 2008 financial meltdown: Fannie and Freddie.

Of course, such a move would cause congressional cronies in Freddie and Fannie hit by these cuts to howl.  These pigs at the government trough are raking in millions at taxpayer expense and running a shoddy, failing financial enterprise.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are “theoretically” private financial entities, but in reality are government entities–regulated (very loosely) by government, managed by government, and propped up by taxpayer infusions of money by their corrupt cronies in congress.  The people who run Fannie and Freddie are political appointees, often themselves coming from political backgrounds.  The incestuous nature of management in these organizations and the back-slapping atmosphere is astonishing.

The evidence is clear that Fannie and Freddie are corrupt bottomless pits down which taxpayer money is thrown in heaps, that oversight is shockingly minimal, their business practices are reckless, and that these government institutions which were more than anything responsible for the 2008 meltdown continue to receive massive taxpayer infusions of taxpayer cash while socialists in our government continue to bark about cutting the salaries and bonuses of free and private companies.

Can you say “utter hypocrisy?”  Can you say “socialism at its finest?”  Can you say “Marxist philosophy on parade?”

Can you say “ENOUGH?”
