EEOC Nominee Believes Religious Belief Should Not Be Tolerated
Chai Feldblum, President Obama’s nominee for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, not only believes “sexual liberty” trumps religious freedom, she believes religious beliefs that run counter to politically correct dogma should not be tolerated.
From CNS News:
“Just as we do not tolerate private racial beliefs that adversely affect African-Americans in the commercial arena, even if such beliefs are based on religious views, we should similarly not tolerate private beliefs about sexual orientation and gender identity that adversely affect LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender] people,” the Georgetown law professor argued.
I cannot fail to point out that there is a critical, fundamental difference between discrimination against people with different skin colors and a sexual behavior which the doctrine of every major religion in the world teaches is immoral and unnatural. Skin color is an innate, morally-neutral physical characteristic, while homosexual behavior is just that: a behavior. Further, it is an immoral one that is contrary to God’s design for the expression of human sexuality. It is also counter to the obvious natural function for our sex organs, and is also linked to much higher health risks which include AIDS, other STDs, anal cancer, hepatitis, depression, substance abuse, suicide and domestic violence.
In fact, the spiritual and physical hazards associated with homosexual behavior are so great, it could easily be argued that those who affirm and encourage this unhealthy behavior are the ones who are fostering beliefs that “adversely affect” homosexuals. If someone were to encourage people to use meth or crack, we would rightly conclude that the encourager did not have the best interest of these people in mind. If someone were to encourage others to drive fast through a school zone or on an icy highway, we would rightly conclude that the encourager did not have the best interest of others in mind. Anyone who encourages others to engage in the immoral, unhealthy practice of homosexual behavior also does not have the best interest of others in mind.
Someone who keeps their aberrant sexual behavior private is unlikely to encounter any employment conflicts in the first place. But the homosexual who insists on being open and vocal about their sexual disorientation may create an impression of or association with their employer that the employer does not want. This is especially true of Christian businesses and employers who want to be known for their Christian worldview. Even more problematic is the cross-dresser or other individual who is very visibly confused about their sex.
Feldblum doesn’t care about any of this, however.
“For those who believe that a homosexual or bisexual orientation is not morally neutral, and that an individual who acts on his or her homosexual orientation is acting in a sinful or harmful manner (to himself or herself and to others), it is problematic when the government passes a law that gives such individuals equal access to all societal institutions,” Feldblum wrote.
Anyone who heeds moral, practical or biological considerations over politically correct ones must be punished, she believes.
Putting this radical woman in charge of the EEOC is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house, or putting criminals in charge of the prison, or the inmates in charge of the asylum. But then, such “Isaiah 5:20” appointments are the norm in the Obama Administration.
The American people, however, are in charge of the U.S. government, and it is our responsibility to tell our government we will not tolerate such gross irresponsibility and contempt for the founding values of our nation.
