Tenth Amendment Backlash Against Unconstitutional Health Care Bill

The people and the states aren’t taking passage of the un-American, un-Constitutional, corrupt government health care bill sitting down.

Mark Tapscott from the Washington Examiner says

According to AP, South Carolina‘s Henry McMaster is being joined by the attorneys general of Michigan and Washington state in a suit to determine the constitutionality of the Obamacare proposal. Their initiative was prompted by a request from South Carolina’s two senators, Lindsay Graham and Jim DeMint, both Republicans.

Attorneys-general in at least four other states are also considering joining McMasters, according to AP. A move by a group of states to challenge the constitutionality of Obamacare could reinvigorate the efficacy of the 10th Amendment, which reserves to the states or the people all rights not specifically granted to the federal government.

Such moves have been underway for many months, as several states could see the writing on the wall as soon as Barack Obama came to the White House.

I know the socialists have been thinking and hoping that Americans have lost enough touch with their heritage that socializing our country would be easy…but the past year has proven them woefully, miserably wrong.

The past year has seen a dozen states or more asserting their sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment, with several states specifically moving to protect themselves against the federal government’s intended imposition of socialist health care.

The past year has seen unprecedented fervor and activity from conservatives, bursting forth in the Tea Party movement and at town hall meetings across our great country.

Even now, as this monstrosity passes the U.S. Senate and moves toward some form of reconciliation with the U.S. House, those who remember and treasure our heritage of freedom and independence are moving to stop this rogue government.

Americans fought and spilled much blood to gain our independence from oppressive government over 200 years ago.  We have fought many times since to protect our freedom from the jackals who would devour it, and we stand ready once again to fight for our heritage of freedom–even against our own government, if necessary.

Fortunately, our wise forefathers left us the tools necessary to do this without the bloodshed which was required the first time around.  We have the tools of the Tenth Amendment, of nullification, and of election.  We will remove many of these arrogant elitists from their ivory tower in next year’s election, and some states may just recall their “representatives” who have shown such hostility toward our Constitution, our freedom and our property rights.

Even as this dark hour comes upon us on the eve of the celebration of the coming of the Messiah, there is hope.  There is much hope left alive, so be of good cheer.

Put this out of your mind for the next couple of days and celebrate the incarnation of the One who gave our nation liberty, the One on whom our system of government is founded.  Enjoy your time with your family; cherish it and revel in it.

Because with the coming of the new year, all American patriots must get busy immediately in the fight to restore freedom and Constitutional government to our country.  None of us can do everything, but all of us can do something, and all of us MUST do something.

We cannot allow this precious gift we call America to slip from our fingers.
