Switzerland Warmer During Medieval Period Than Today
C3Headlines again points us to some information that’s been out there for a while, but due to the diligent investigative reporting of the “mainstream” media has remained largely unknown until now.
Recall that yesterday I posted a piece on their report about greater warmth in Spain during the medieval period than in modern times? Now they point to a report which found greater warmth in Switzerland during the medieval period, also.
Citing Keigwin (1996), for example, they note that “sea surface temperature (SST) reconstructions show that SST was ca. 1°C cooler than today about 400 years ago and ca. 1°C warmer than today during the MWP.” And citing Bond et al. (1997), they note that the MWP and LIA are just the most recent manifestations of “a pervasive millennial-scale coupled atmosphere-ocean climate oscillation” that has absolutely nothing to do with variations in the air’s CO2 content.
Greater warmth than modern times is also true of the Roman era, the Peruvian ice caps which were warmer thousands of years ago than today, Lake Baikal and evidence that Siberia began warming 250 years ago–long before the evil SUV and coal power plant.
And let us not forget Greenland, which was warm enough around 1,000 AD that the Vikings colonized it and were able to grow vineyards…until they were driven out due to the oncoming freezing cold a few hundred years later.
In short, there is a host of evidence that our planet has gone through natural, cyclic climate change both warm and cold–of greater extremes than modern times–for thousands of years.
All this happened without the help of the modern industrial (capitalist) innovation that socialists find so repugnant, yet these apostles of doom expect us to believe that our puny actions have greater effect than the sun, the ocean, volcanic activity, and every other natural climate factor?
Well, you’re free to believe that if you want, but if you do, expect calls from people who want to sell you ocean-front property in Arizona.
And don’t expect the rest of us to jump on your bandwagon and surrender our freedom, our property and our national sovereignty on the altar of your global warming religion; we have lives, families and a nation to take care of.
