Medieval Temps in Spain Exceed Modern By 3.5°C
I’ve been pointing out for a long time that temperatures on earth have been going up and down naturally for centuries–a reality which throws cold water on the shaky theory of anthropogenic global warming to explain modern warming trends.
From C3 and CO2 Science comes this interesting bit concerning warming during the medieval period and farther back during Roman days:
The five scientists determined that the mean temperature of the Medieval Warm Period in northwest Spain was 1.5°C warmer than it was over the 30 years leading up to the time of their study, and that the mean temperature of the Roman Warm Period was 2°C warmer. Even more impressive was their finding that several decadal-scale intervals during the Roman Warm Period were more than 2.5°C warmer than the 1968-98 period, while an interval in excess of 80 years during the Medieval Warm Period was more than 3°C warmer.
You can click here to view the temperature graph, which shows much warmer periods which came long, long, long before SUVs or those evil coal power plants.
This data corresponds to a host of other historical data showing warm periods in the past as great or greater than the current trend, and periods much colder. This includes the period around 900 AD when the Vikings colonized Greenland and it was warm enough for them to grow vineyards there…before having to abandon Greenland a few hundred years later because it became so bitterly cold.
This is a silly hypothesis which is 90% assumption and guesswork (and some monkey business), built on 10% actual science.
We should not entertain even for a moment surrendering our freedom and prosperity on the altar of this socialist fantasy, and certainly not surrendering our national sovereignty to a bunch of hypocritical anti-American thugs in the UN.
