Greenies Oppose Green Energy
Fox News covers the “green tape” companies now have to navigate in addition to the red tape of bureaucracy in order to get anything done.
Developers want to build a huge solar collection system in El Centro, California. Normally you would expect environmental extremists to love this idea; after all, it doesn’t involve any of those fossil fuels they find so distasteful.
But no.
The environmental extremists claim building a solar collection system out there in the barren desert will have a “negative impact” on the land and the critters running around on said barren land.
Now, I don’t think we need to go out of our way to destroy flora and fauna. But at the same time, God created the earth to meet human needs, not to enslave humanity to nature.
Remember when the liberals freaked out over the spotted owls about 20 years ago? The owls continued to do just fine despite logging. I even saw a picture of one that built a nest in a K-Mart sign. Animals will adapt.
Remember all the wailing and moaning from the Left about the caribou in Alaska and how drilling in ANWR would supposedly mean their doom? The caribou love human activity and are doing just fine!
Besides, the earth won’t plunge into the sun if a lizard goes extinct. All one need do is look at the fossil record to see the countless species that are no longer with us…and the earth just keeps on rotating and orbiting the sun.
Human beings are going to make an impact on the environment. It’s unavoidable, even if we went back to living in cabins with no electricity. The only way to keep the planet as “pristine” as environmental extremists want would be to exterminate humanity–which would be just fine with some of these nut-jobs (though we never see them at the head of the line).
This illustrates what I’ve long said of environmental extremists: they’re either totally stupid…or they just want to cripple our country under the guise of environmental advocacy.
From day to day, I can never get settled on just which it is, but I know it’s one or the other. Sane environmental stewardship is not in their vocabulary.
It’s time to tell these environmental extremists to go pound some sand while the rest of us get on about the business of powering the greatest nation on earth.
