Freedom and Prosperity Riding on Sloppy Science
Even as our socialist leaders discuss the fate of our freedom on Copenhagen, we learn more and more just how sloppy is the “science” these so-called fears of anthropogenic global warming.
We’ve heard a lot late (that is, if you haven’t been listening to the silence from the “mainstream” media) about ClimateGate and all the monkey business with data from the Climate Research Unit in England. You know, the leaked emails and documents which show these so-called scientists chatting with each other about using “tricks” to “hid the decline” in temperatures, about hiding and deleting data, about throwing out raw data, about “fudge factors” built into the climate models to make sure they get the “right” results, about looking at a handful of tree rings while ignoring others and still having to “adjust” the data to make it say what they wanted, the and so on.
James Delingpole at the British Telegraph tells you about some other mistakes and funny business that you might not have heard about yet.
One of those has to do with an IPCC report about Himalayan glaciers that will supposedly melt in 2035. Well, this report was based on a previous report that placed the year of the alleged climate disaster at 2350…not 2035, or a difference of 315 years…if it ever happens at all.
Another funny piece of data Delingpole mentions is some temperature readings from Darwin in Australia. While the blue line in the graph above represents the raw temperature readings, the red represents the “adjusted” temperatures. One cannot maintain intellectual credibility with their own selves without asking, “Are we seeing the same ‘fudge factor’ in the Darwin data as was written into the climate code at the CRU?”
Remember, too, that a couple of years ago a private individual analyzed NASA’s temperature data and found that 1998 wasn’t the hottest year on record, but was in fact 1934, and that the 1990s wasn’t the hottest decade, but rather the 1930s. NASA quietly corrected its data, hoping we “deniers” wouldn’t hear about it.
Interestingly, even before this data correction was widely known (if you can really say it’s “widely known” even now), a report was issued in 2008 stating that the last 10 years were the hottest in 1,300 years…meaning that 1,300 years ago (looong before SUVs, coal power plants and other evil capitalist contrivances) it was hotter than it is today. Sounds like natural, cyclic climate change doesn’t it…unless you’re one of Al Gore’s disciples.
Elitists can try to smoke us with a lot of technical-sounding gobbledygook, but the simple facts (including the reality that theirs is 95% guesswork) along with a dash of common sense blows away that smokescreen and makes the picture very clear.
No, the whole idea of anthropogenic global warming is based on a little sloppy science and quite a bit of fraud from people who should know better, but don’t care.
Well, we average Americans care. We care about seeing our hard-won constitutional freedoms annihilated under oppressive environmental regulations, and we care about seeing our national sovereignty sacrificed on the altar of environmental extremism.
And we won’t stand for it.
If the socialists in our government insist on forcing a cap and trade global warming tax and a UN Climate Treaty on us, we’ll toss them out at the ballot box next year and in 2012 and get busy about the work of overturning this anti-American legislation.
We will be free.
