Al Gore Caught Making Stuff Up Again

Al Gore, the green prophet of man-made apocalypse, has been caught making stuff up again to scare children and unthinking liberals.  He’s been over at the socialist confab in Copenhagen creating more hot air.

From the UK Times:

In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”

Just one problem with Gore’s latest prophecy of doom: it’s total bunk (like everything else he says).

However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.

“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”

Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.

The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming.

Gore just makes this junk up.  He has to.

You know, a few weeks ago he got caught spewing more inaccurate drool about how the interior of the earth was “several million degrees” as he tried to sell his geothermal power idea.

The only problem is, the real core temperature is only about 6,500 degrees about 1,00o miles down.  The surface of the sun is only about 10,000-11,000 degrees.

I was going to give Gore a pass on that one (see, it happened nearly a month ago, and not a peep out of me), lest I be accused of piling on against an unarmed man.  But after this, I just couldn’t let it ride anymore.

Is it just me, or is it getting to be a verified pattern here. We have Gore making up stuff, we have fake hockey sticks, we have monkey business at the CRU–and we’re supposed to take these people at their word when they say human activity is warming the planet and we’ll all die if we don’t fork over our money and our freedom right now?

Its time to take Gore’s microphone away from him, and that of the socialists in Washington who listen to him.  This man is a reckless danger to American freedom and prosperity, as are Barack Obama and his band of merry socialists in congress.

These people are an anathema to freedom.
