Apparently the outrage of Americans with their government wasn’t just a flash in the pan that manifested itself during the town halls and Tea Parties, only to quickly disappear. Rasmussen Reports finds 71% of voters are angry at the federal government and 46% who say they are very angry.

President Barack Obama’s speech on the Afghanistan “surge” was an odd mix of action and withdrawal, a pledge of effort without a clearly defined purpose or commitment. No wonder at least one European believes Obama’s magic is gone.

The Rapid City Journal reports Kristin Conzet has been appointed by Governor Mike Rounds to finish Rep. Brian Dreyer’s term as one of South Dakota District 32′s representatives in the state House.

The federal government’s attitude has already started to shift against senior citizens. Changing federal Medicare rules to shift the costs of self administered drugs during hospital stays off the federal government and onto senior citizens was just the start. These policy changes by the federal government predict future changes that will happen if the federal government takes over the entire health care system.

Allocation of resources is a primary principle of sustainability. Those resources are primarily food, water, and health care. Rather than allow free enterprise to take care of these things, government’s work to control them and “equitably” distribute them.

Would a church allow unbelievers to serve as pastors, deacons or other staff members? Should the GOP put unbelievers (in GOP values) on the ticket come election time?

Krauthammer compares and contrasts Obama’s hesitant, reticent stance on prosecuting the war, with President Bush’s decisive commitment:”You’ve got a sense of a man who wants to put a toe in the water, who wants to give it a shot, but he’s ready to leave.” This demeanor will undoubtedly strike fear into the hearts of our enemies.

Citizens for Liberty President Gordon Howie has posted a letter from a Citizens for Liberty member at the group’s website. The letter details a recent encounter with Senator Tim Johnson at his office and a discussion they had about government health care.

In one of Ronald Reagan’s radio broadcasts in the late 1970s during the Christmas season, Mr. Reagan told a story about Christmas in the Ukraine before and after Communism. It bears a disturbing similarity to the trend we see today in the U.S. to secularize Christmas and every facet of American life.
