Tea Party Express in Rapid City

The Tea Party Express came to Rapid City on Monday to the cheers of Black Hills area patriots!

Encouraged by the success of the last Tea Party Express that ended in the huge Washington D.C. Tea Party on September 12, the second cross-country tour is making its way across the land of the free right now.

Held at the Central States Fairgrounds Event Center in Rapid City and supported by local Tea Party group Citizens for Liberty, the event drew people not only from the Black Hills but as far away as Sioux Falls on the opposite side of South Dakota.

Citizens for Liberty board member Kristen Stoddard, who worked at the vendor table, said she talked to people from North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Southern Colorado, and a man from North Carolina who was passing through when he heard about the Tea Party Express stop.

Stoddard also said there were “Tea Party ‘groupies'” from several areas including San Diego who were following the Tea Party Express around the country.

Check the Rapid City Journal and KOTA for additional coverage of the event.

Expect pictures of the event at the Citizens for Liberty website soon!
