Is the GOP On Track to Win in 2010? Nope

You’d think after getting their butts kicked for acting like Democrats in 2006, 2008 and 2009, the Republican establishment would have pulled their collective heads out of their nether regions, but alas, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

In the first several years of the Bush Administration, Republicans in congress acted like morally-challenged Democrats and spent money so fast they made drunken sailors look frugal.  Consequently, the people put them in the minority in 2006.

The GOP had a chance to learn from their mistakes and win in 2008.  Instead, they chose to bumble about like ineffectual idiots for the next two years in congress, and pushed a RINO presidential candidate that forced the voters to choose between a Democrat and a Democrat-Lite.  As is always the case, when people are presented with a choice between the genuine article and a close imitation, they’ll always choose the genuine article for the same money.

Republicans had still another chance to prove they’d finally got it in 2009 during the handful of elections held last week.  Instead, New York Republicans shoved a RINO in front of the people and dared them not to support her.  They didn’t.  And when this RINO finally dropped out due to pathetic polls, she went on to remain on the ballot (dividing the conservative vote for those who were so tuned-out they didn’t know she’d dropped out) and campaign for the Democrat.

Well, after all these lessons, and the opening the Tea Parties have created for the inept GOP, we can now expect they’ve certainly grown a brain and a backbone and are finally ready to live up to the values of the Republican Party.  Right?

Ah, apparently not.

According to OneNewsNow,  State Assemblyman Chuck Devore will be running against ultra-liberal Senator Barbara Boxer in California, but the powers that be in the GOP are more interested in backing a liberal Republican:

California Republican U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina last week gained the endorsements of eight Republican Senators, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Tom Coburn, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, Jon Kyl, John McCain, Lisa Murkowski and Olympia Snowe.

In doing so, the eight Senators looked past the more conservative candidate challenging Fiorina in the GOP primary – State Assemblyman Chuck Devore, who is a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Retired Reserve, and was a Reagan White House appointee in the Pentagon.

DeVore says Fiorina believes in a different scope of government than he does. He notes she has said good things about the Wall Street bailout and supported aspects of the stimulus package.

The article also indicates Fiorina is lukewarm and weak-kneed on protecting innocent human life, as well as protecting marriage from being counterfeited.

Well, these RINOs can back other RINOs if they care more about politics and advancing a liberal agenda than they do the good of the country, but their selfishness is a strong warning to we the people that we must be busy right now preparing for the primary next year.

Americans who respect the Constitution and want to save our great country must begin RIGHT NOW encouraging good candidates to run against liberals of all parties next year.  We must find them, encourage them, and support them with our campaign contributions and our volunteer time.  It may even be that YOU are that  Constitutionally-cognizant person who must run for office–not just in congress, but at every level of government, including state and local offices.

The hour is late and next year may be the last chance we have to save our freedom and our country.  We cannot afford to rely on “someone else” to make it happen; you must make it happen; I must make it happen! We cannot rely on the Republican establishment to provide good candidates; we must ensure good candidates are there, strong and in force, in next year’s primary.  Indeed, we must try to work inside the GOP at the precinct level, at the county committee level, as delegates and more.  If we don’t, the liberals and RINOs certainly will.

We have our work cut out for us, don’t we?  But isn’t our freedom, our country and our Constitution worth fighting for?
