Huckabee Clemency Beneficiary Again Wreaking Havoc
Maurice Clemmons, a recipient of Governor Mike Huckabee’s infamous clemency, is a suspect in the slaying of four Washington state police officers and a manhunt is underway. If Clemmons turns out to be the killer, the bloody trail of Huckabee’s inability to deal with evil will have grown longer by four bodies.
Bishops Mobilize for Marriage in New Jersey
The Catholic bishops of New Jersey are making it clear to their flocks what the Church’s teaching is on marriage in hopes of enabling them to promote and support marriage and families. This comes as the state of New Jersey anticipates a possible legislative vote to legalize same-sex marriage before Republican Gov.-elect Chris Christie takes office Jan. 19.

The Case of Hannah Overton
In Corpus Christi, Texas, where my parents live and worship, the Christian community was rocked two years ago by the shocking conviction of Hannah Overton. In an outrageous series of events, this gentle thirty-year-old Christ-follower, wife, and homeschooling mother of five was sentenced to life without parole in the death of four-year-old Andrew Burd.
It’s OK, Wish Me A Merry Christmas
To put Christmas back into the holiday season, tens of thousands of Christians will be wearing buttons that read, “It’s OK, Wish Me A Merry Christmas.” More than 200,000 of the buttons have been distributed nationally as part of a campaign to influence retailers not to be silent with saying “Christmas.”
‘The Blind Side’ should trouble as well as inspire
“The Blind Side” is a beautiful new film based on a magnificent and heartwarming true story. But I hope that the many who see it do not simply walk out all aglow. It should also produce concern. This story about hopelessness transformed into achievement should be a typically American story–but is increasingly NOT the case.
Socialists in a Panic Over ClimateGate…to Pass UN Climate Treaty
Now that the cat is out of the bag over Climategate (while the American “mainstream” media is still desperately trying to keep it hush-hush), we hear President Obama is wearing some of the emperor’s new clothes and headed to Copenhagen with the intention of subordinating our free nation to a UN climate change treaty.
Let Me Rise, Let Me Choose
“Let Me Rise” is a short film from the Heritage Foundation about the ability (or rather, inability) of Americans to send their children to good schools of their own choice. Every taxpaying American is charged for the public school system, yet many Americans find that the public school system isn’t meeting their needs.
150,000 Americans Sign Manhattan Declaration in First Week
More than 150,000 people have so far signed the Manhattan Declaration, just a week after the document was unveiled. And one of the document’s drafters, Chuck Colson, hopes the number will soon reach a million so that Christians would put America on notice that they will not compromise their faith, no matter what.
The Manhattan Declaration, an historic document
We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:
1.the sanctity of human life
2.the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
3.the rights of conscience and religious liberty.
Howard Dean Admits Health Care Bill Costs Trillions, Delivers Little
Arch-liberal Howard Dean makes it clear that he lusts after a fully socialist health care plan, but does allow some truth to slip through in this interview. He admits the current plan under consideration in congress will cost trillions of dollars, doesn’t reform anything, and that Republicans are actually right about the bottom line of this bill.
Pull Up A Chair
Longstanding tradition involves waiving the reading of a congressional bill before the vote, but Senator Tom Coburn is calling for a reading of the 2,074-page health care bill. With stakes this high, if our representatives can’t find the time or energy to read the bill, it seems the least they could do is pull up a chair and listen.
Authorities: Kentucky Census Worker Committed Suicide
Remember a couple of months ago when it hit the news that a census worker had been killed, and that it seemed to have been the work of anti-government “Tea Party” types because the man was a government worker and because of the word “fed” written on his chest, presumably by his murderer? Now that a thorough investigation has been conducted, authorities have concluded that it was a staged suicide.
