Taxpayer Funded Abortion: Getting Around the Hyde Amdt

HCAbortionYet another of the lies the liberals spin to Americans to lull them into accepting their planned socialist takeover of the U.S. health care system is that it won’t include taxpayer-funded abortion (even though some liberals have already slipped that it will).

Would you like to know how the liars can find something, anything upon which to give some credibility to their lie?

They will usually cite the Hyde Amendment which was designed to prevent taxpayer funding of abortion. For the most part (except for the millions taxpayer funding that goes to Planned Parenthood–though not directly to fund abortion, and a few other exceptions), the Hyde Amendment has successfully blocked full-blown taxpayer funding of abortion in the United States.

But now liberals have figured out a way to get around the Hyde Amendment, and this video from FocusAction explains how the maneuver works.

You see, the Hyde Amendment only blocks abortion funding that comes through the Health and Human Services budget (where it would normally come from), but pro-abortion liberals plan to funnel your tax dollars to pay for abortion through the health care “reform” bill which is outside that budget area.  Neat, huh?

Liberals are good at getting around the law, aren’t they?  If they were half as good at upholding the law, defending our Constitution and protecting innocent human life, we’d be in great shape.

    Every liberal congressman and woman and the so called President has comitted treason.How you ask,by ignoring the constitution,by voteing on legislation without reading it,they might have been voteing to do away with elections.By spending America into bankruptchy.By ignoreing the very laws they pass.This President has run all over the world telling everyone that would listen what a terrible country that America is.He is also selling out every taxpayer with this so called health care and every congressman that votes for this thing should be thrown out of office.We will have no health care when this is passed and these people know it.Our constitution does not allow for the govt.to take over any part of American buisness and yet this bunch has done it and that is treason.

    Bob, the problem is that you are part of the problem. You continue to be caught up in the same game many other people are of getting upset, judging, condemming and all this does is play into the larger game of creating more attention for the things who claim to rail against. You, yourself are not perfect. But, you seem to latch on to pointing out the bad things others do. In fact, you obsess over other's imperfections and shortcomings. It is evident you are obsessed with Barack Obama or you wouldn't write about him so much. I'll leave you with what a friend once told me: "We become defined by those issues that we are obsessed with." Good day, Mr. Ellis! You should really get out and enjoy life because you've missed so much of it obsessing over matters God gave you no control over.

  • The Good Lord knows I'm not perfect, as do I (and my wife would correct me even if I did try to think it).

    But the qualification, the obligation to point out wrong does not hinge on the moral perfection of the one pointing it out. All that is required is knowledge of the wrong and the courage to speak the truth. It's really not hard; all you have to do is quit thinking what pop culture thinks of you.

    Each of us has an obligation to call for what is right and denounce what is wrong. That is part of the Master's commission to be salt and light in a dark and decaying world. And in a nation "of the people, by the people and for the people," that obligation is even more profound. Because God did give us a measure of control over such things in a republic, and if we neglect the opportunity and responsibility God has entrusted to us, we're not only being lazy, we're being disobedient to God.

    Why don't you join me in advocating that our nation take the right path, that we stop killing innocent children and all the other evil being promoted these days? If you would join your voice to mine and all the others calling for what is right, and if we could get more of us doing the same, these evil-doers would finally either be cowed or shamed into acting right, or we'd succeed in getting some good people in leadership positions.

    Then I could go and enjoy life even more than I currently am. Will you help me do that? Let's work together to get our nation back on the right course so we can all better enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
  • Is this for real? You mean the liberals would actually deceive Americans into believing something that isn't true? What about the death panels that Sarah Palin alluded to? Are they really part of the Obama plan? Surely they wouldn't lie to us about something like that! Would they?
